Meh. I can get both the front and back page sheeple demographic of
all political leanings with :

British Olympian repeatedly kicked Spaniard in the head in
post-Brexit fight !!!

In preparation for the next Gibraltar summit. Perhaps substitute Welsh Tyro for British Olympian leaving a way out for the rUK excluding Scotland and Northern Ireland of course.

Actually the market for fact based comments is incredibly small. Serial benefit claimant or Janitor? The world is not your oyster.
I don't think that anyone speaking factually would last long in either of those positions either, unfortunately.
I might go in for one of those sandwich board The End Is Nigh gigs. They've got to be right eventually.
Wonder how much they pay? Doubt the pension's up to much.

Martin Jol leaves Al Ahly after fears for his own safety.

Surely the man is worth a decent job in the PL or the Championship ? When I see some of the clowns who get jobs and then make absolute balls of the opportunity, it makes me weep that a good guy such as Jol has struggle for work in recent years.
After leaving Spurs many coaches have failed, seems to be a poisoned chalice for coaches.

Hadn't really thought about it before but you are right.

Sherwood has been out of work since October 2015.
AVB has done well in Russia.
Harry hasn't really done much since leaving us...I know he brought QPR up but he took them down and left them when they were relegation fodder.
Ramos has never really regained his reputation as one of Europe's most promising coaches.
Jol has been explained.
Santini never managed again.
Pleat never managed again.
Hoddle had a rough time at wolves and never managed a team again.
Bloke in a Coat never managed again.
Gerry Francis never managed again.
Ossie Ardilles never managed in a major league again but did very well in Japan.
Venables did well for England in Euro 96 but nothing with Borough or Leeds.

It's like one of those elephant grave yards <yikes>

They've claimed that one of them was bumped just before the switch-over and the Brazilians have been disqualified.
I assume that the same rule will apply to Jack Burnell then, as he was pulled back and the guy that did it was caught at the time.
The result? Burnell was booted out for pushing him off.
The fact it stinks should not make us fail to marvel at the miraculous ability of American relay teams to screw up handing a stick from one person to another. It has to have happened a dozen times in the fairly recent past. It's even worse considering our sports are all hand sports, and hand-eye coordination is a way of describing athletic skill in these parts.

...aaaaaand the US are DQ'd from the relay one more time.

It's also like England coaches and MOST coaches who go from country to club, FEW make the successful transition. Chelsea supporters think their man will prove the exception, we'll just have to see.

I'm very uncomfortable about the US relay runners getting a second chance and agree with what has been said here. I'm sure other teams have failed in such appeals (or not even bothered to make them), and it does seem favouritism simply because it was the US who were the (alleged) victims. However I don't have a memory of incidents like this in the past, though surely the BBC can come up with evidence if they were minded to.

It seems we have been disqualified from the 4 x 400m relay because we were not American.

Cheers...thought Francis only went on to be a coach and or a number 2 like he was with Pullis at Stoke (I think that's right).
Kind of felt for Frances...never thought he was well supported financially by Sugar and the board...especially in comparison to the amount of money Bloke in a Coat was given.
Santini was a very weird case. My now 18 yr old daughter went to her first match with me when he was our manager when she was 6 yrs old. He was a pretty dour nil nil v Norwich. Was really shocked when I turned on the TV one Saturday to find out he'd quit...but he did lead to us getting Jol...both my girls still talk about him fondly even though it's been 9 years since he left!

I thought Francis was very unlucky with injuries making his job much more difficult.

Everything about the (mercifully brief) Santini era makes as much sense as 4.5m people subscribing to LeafyIsHere's Youtube channel.

A lot of the reason Graham was given his marching orders was because of the dour football he had us playing (although ENIC looking to curry favour with the fans by appointing Hoddle was pretty obvious) - yet Santini was noted for his dour football long before we hired him, making it look as if we signed a "big name" rather than a manager.

Then came some of the rumours...

Firstly there's the ones that have been confirmed by the players themselves, such as how in training he'd blow a whistle each and every time a full back dared to venture past the halfway line, and then there was his blunt refusal to play Carrick because he didn't sign him - which no doubt pissed off Arnesen no end, let alone Levy. Then there's the rumours that haven't been conformed but are all too plausible, namely how Arnesen recommended Jol to Levy - only for Levy to half-ass it and bring in "big name" Santini as manager while also bringing in Jol as an assistant coach.
