    TEAM NEWS

QPR defender Joel Lynch (abdomen) remains sidelined while midfielder Ben Gladwin (ankle) will be assessed.

Defender Grant Hall serves a one-match ban after being sent off in the defeat at Barnsley in midweek while Jamie Mackie (ankle) is a long-term absentee.

Preston are one of just two Championship clubs yet to collect a point this season, the other being Blackburn Rovers.

Defender Paul Huntington (abdominal strain) is a doubt for North End.

    Analysis
BBC Radio London's Emma Jones: "QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was clearly frustrated with their 3-2 loss at Barnsley in midweek, saying the decisions of referee Darren Bond had turned the game into the "Wild Wild West".

"Given Preston's slow start to the Championship season, the Dutchman will be confident his side can return to winning ways at Loftus Road and regain their momentum.

"Hasselbaink is still keen to add to his attacking options before the transfer window closes, but says the R's will be priced out of a move for West Brom winger Callum McManaman."

BBC Radio Lancashire's Phil Cunliffe: "Some Preston fans have started to get twitchy but, despite being pointless, there have been signs of improvement in the past two games.

"The post-Joe Garner era began with defeat by Derby on Tuesday but North End were unfortunate to lose and in Callum Robinson they have a young forward eager to fill Garner's sizeable boots.

"Simon Grayson is planning to use the Garner cash to plug gaps in his squad but, ever the pragmatist, he'll use any surplus to sign up his established players on longer contracts.

"In the meantime, Grayson and the fans will feel a whole lot better should they emerge from Loftus Road with a hard-earned point, as was the case last season."

    Match facts
    • QPR are unbeaten in their last six league games with Preston, though four have been draws (won two).
    • Preston have lost four and drawn two of their last six league trips to Loftus Road since a 2-0 win in November 2005.
    • QPR have won six of their last eight home league games (drawn one, lost one), keeping clean sheets in five of those victories.
    • Preston have lost their opening three league games for the first time since 1989-90.
    • Tjaronn Chery has scored a penalty in each of his opening three Championship games for QPR this season, as well as one in the penalty shootout in their League Cup game with Swindon.
    • Callum Robinson is the only player to find the net for Preston in the Championship this season so far.

There’ll be plenty to keep you entertained this Saturday…

    • Family Fan Zone returns on Saturday
    • Grant Hall will be signing autographs for fans
    • Tony Hazell on pitch at half-time
THE HOOPS play host to Simon Grayson’s Preston North End this Saturday, and we have a range of activities to make sure that your matchday is great from beginning to end.

The Family Fan Zone returns for the first time this season, with last season’s Player of the Year Grant Hall signing autographs and posing for selfies. The Fan Zone, which will be located at the Play Football pitches on South Africa Road for this season, is open from 12pm until 2.30pm and features a number of family activities including a speed cage, quick feet activity and a face painter.

A lucky number of kids and adults will also be selected to carry our new crest flag onto the pitch just before kick-off. Eight year-old QPR fan George Sharp will be presented with his QPR running shirt as he is taking on the challenge of the Junior Great South Run. He is a season ticket holder, along with his father, and is raising money for Tiger Cubs - a football team for children and young people with Down's syndrome – and everyone at QPR wishes George the best for his run!

At half-time, former QPR defender Tony Hazell will take part in a Q&A session on the pitch. Tony was part of the 1967 team that won both the Third Division title and the League Cup, and went on to make over 350 appearances for the R’s from 1964-74. Our junior fans will also take part in our mini Olympic event on the pitch!

The Matchday Activity Centre is also open to supporters in the Family Stand 90 minutes before the game to entertain supporters with a range of activities. A limited number of free fruit bags will also be available. You can challenge your parents or friends to a game of table football, play on our Nintendo Wii, or get creative by designing our kit for next season. Keep a look out for our board game expert Kevin Nathaniel, who will also be in the Family Stand as you arrive. He will be challenging adults and kids to a game of ‘Make It 4’ so feel free to try and beat him if you think you’re good enough!

Finally, look out for a new range of food options in some of the kiosks around the stadium including Peri Peri Chicken & Rice, a new and improved Mom’s Brioche Hot Dog, Loaded Chips, and there will also be Pie, Mash and Liquor for sale in the Blue and White bar!

We look forward to welcoming you to Loftus Road tomorrow!

    • Former defender will attend Preston fixture
    • Hazell featured in famous QPR side of the mid-late 60’s
FORMER QPR defender Tony Hazell will return to Loftus Road as a guest of the club this weekend.

Rangers play host to Preston North End in W12 on Saturday and Hazell – a star of the club’s famous 1966/67 squad, who made over 350 appearances for the Hoops – will be in attendance.

Hazell will be introduced to the crowd at half-time, prior to taking part in a pitchside Q&A.

Nice one Norway. ( Don't exhaust the supply of QPR lasses on one thread. They're in short supply <laugh> )

I'm travelling up to somewhere in the wilderness of Ontario when this match kicks off, hopefully I can track the game if I can get a signal.

At last, a game at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. I guess I'm just a traditionalist. Looking forward going to LR for the first time this season.

Loved that Tony Hazel in the early eighties. A traditional no nonsense centre half.

He's that 18 year old midfield player we signed from Spurs in May. He can also play as a defender which is handy as we have none on the bench.

No time to panic. But it does seem that we have "temporarily" lost both our defensive and offensive form.

I'm going back to the bar-b-q and will drown my sorrows with some (much) more very pleasant chilled Rioja rose wine.
