About to turn 35 too, I can't remember any other strikers this good at 35.

Teddy S was good late into his career but never in Ibra's class. Bryan Robson was still knocking them in mid-30s

Too early to tell, but so far he's impressed in the 3 games he's played. I had my doubts when we signed him, but watching him, I'm quickly changing my mind. I think he'll have some assists soon as well.

As Trebs says, it's early days. He looks good, but the pressures and virtually incessant frequency and pace of games in the PL, is something he's never had to cope with before. Let's see how he does when it starts getting tough.

If you want a budget 34yr old (almost) striker - Jermaine Defoe! Still banging them in and 34 in just over a month's time....

Henrick Larsson. Another good older striker that Utd signed.

She did have MI5 on her team though. It was a bit like the Howard Webb of the 90's ensuing that Utd won the games he was officiating.

He was actually a great defender should completely mastered the offside rules...when he screamed "ALL OUT" at the defenders in the box everyone did as they were told!

No need, Scargill was the Rafa Benitez of his time.

    Roger Milla?

As to Scargill, he didn't do too badly out of the strike iirc.

That is pretty much the same age as Dennis Bergkamp was during the invincibles season, Henry got all the plaudits but he would not have got half the goals he did without Bergkamp in the team.

I think Drogba won the PL golden boot when he was like 33.

As this thread is about 34 year old strikers, that's a pretty odd comparison. Ibra has so far scored 4 in 3 games. That season Bergkamp managed 5 in 38. He was a fantastic player but he was never prolific. Not really someone to be compared with Ibra.

Some forwards aren't prolific, thats not what their game is about. Zola was the same. Bergkamp and Zola quite often got assist stats aswell though I think.

In terms of goalscoring though, I think Drogba got 29 goals in 32 games when he was in his 30's, think it was 32 or 33 years old. Our double winning season under Ancelotti.

I wouldn't compare Zola with Ibra either. Drogba, yes.
