So we've signed a player on a free transfer after a successful loan. He's 34 (as is Defoe) and, according to most that have seen him, normally keeps himself fit. Why is this a bad thing? Is it just a "we all want to bash Sunderland so we'll pick on them for a little bit of positive news" as the cat has been put among the **** and thrown at the fan!! I see a positive move by moyes bringing in someone he knows. Ok the rest us all **** but this is not bad news
There's nothing wrong with it at all, he can do a job for you and you need extra players around to bulk out your squad. The issue is whether he's been brought in as a cheaper alternative to M'Villa or the like. [Apologies for always referencing NUFC but they are the club i know best] We had it a few years ago when we sold Cabaye (the best player we've had in the past decade) and got Colback on a free. Nothing wrong with getting Colback but there was a mixed response as fans thought that if he was our Cabaye replacement we're screwed. Turns out he was. Turns out we were.
Give it up man ......... that was never ever funny. Unless yuu think mentioning Chinos, every other post, is hilarious
Big problem I see that on here, on a couple of other forums and on Facebook the attitude towards SAFC from our fans is woeful. We ended last season with two of the best atmospheres I've ever heard at the SoL. If the attitude on here (negativity) is as bad in the ground tomorrow, we'll be beaten before we start
I can't say much as an ex-pat location armchair fan the majority of the season, but i fear the negativity on here will spill over into the ground. Which will play right into Boro's hands. Support the team which is picked/turns out - they did well last week, under some ****ty circumstances, bar a poor decision thus flukey OG.
And I think that's part of the problem. For the first time in years it seemed like we were making a little progress. Now we appear to have regressed to a stage that we were at with Di Fanti. No wonder people are doom and gloom at the moment. Can you blame anyone for feeling that way? I didn't say it when Moyes was appointed(fear of being accused of being negative), but something just doesn't feel right with his appointment. Two failures behind him and just ripe for Short's cheap and and cheerful mentality. Unlike Big Sam, he's on the back foot and needs to fall in line with Short's plan. I'm sure all fans will give their full support tomorrow but I don't think anyone can argue that the omens are positive at this moment in time. I truly hope I'm wrong about Moyes but, as we all know, being a Sunderland fan means short periods of hope followed by long periods of anguish and disappointment.
I don't blame anyone for being gloomy. But the fans were as responsible as the players for the wins against Chelsea and Everton last season. Equally the fans were just as poor in the early part of the season as they were good at the end. We need a rocking stadium tomorrow and I bet we don't get it
I hear you Marcus but after being kicked in the Betty Swallocks so many times you end up like Buster Gonad - have you ever seen him with a smile on his face
