I did a comparison based on the players who had gone in and out but you wouldnt have it. You just want us to all think we're in the ****.

 

Your point was to compare the team now to the team of last season. That much is obvious. Except the comparison was unfair as you showed a team from last year AFTER the transfer window shut compared to this years squad a month before the window shuts.

Do it September 1st. Fine. Perhaps the squad will be the same and you can say how worse our team is. Great. But don't try and make some important point by using information that is bias in favour of your own view.

And why are picking specific line ups to certain games?

i was talking in a hypothetical stance of the strongest team (yes in my view) this time round about last year.

Yea Ill wait until September the first to view the exact same point. unless we sign ****ing messi and villa to replace the players lost.

And no I am not biassing my opinion on anything. If you think the strongest possible team we have right now. Compared to the one we had after all the signings were made last summer than thats fine.

Here's one you've not mentioned. Hughton, particularly with Calderwood was a poor manager with no plan b whatsoever. All we did was play it back to Harper to hoof it long to Carroll made for some of the worst football in the league.

He was a nice guy, but a very limited manager. We play better, more expansive football under pardew, proved by results with a weaker team. You'll deny this by claiming Pardew is a 'puppet' I imagine....

 

Well I wasnt really looking at style of play or tactics. just the players available to whoever is in charge.

You put Ben Arfa and Tiote in. Two players we signed in late August. It's not late August yet. Your comparison doesn't ****ing work, as it isn't fair.

Don't you get it? Smudger's comparison is fair because it compares now to the the same time last year. Why didn't you do that?

 

Ah, just you mentioned Hughton in the team line up at the start. If we keep Tiote and get a couple of decent players in an settled soon our team will be better, we were so one dimensional last season it was awful at times.

If you'd handed me both those team sheets before the start of last season, I'd have said the current team without a doubt, but our team pre-January played very well as a unit, which is something that you can't just buy. It could be that in 6 months were saying the same about this squad, it could be that they don't gel and were in bother. It's difficult to compare a team that has played together and succeeded and one that hasn't played a game in anger together.
