What a great start we had to the game and how badly it all went. Have to say that I rest the blame with Whittaker and Boughera. They have effectively cost our team £15m.

Not to take any credit away from Malmo, they carved us up plenty on the counter attack but rarely got a shot on target. When they did, they scored a cracker.

Our discipline was a problem tonight but I think Ally should have made changes sooner. Saying that, what were his options?

A good few changes needed to our squad and hopefully this will be the catalyst for some new faces in.
 
Where's the money going to come from? The sale of Bougherra?

That's only £3m and that isn't going to stretch far when you take transfer fees and wages into account.
 
Discipline is a big thing I think.

I thought if you took the lead you'd be more than capable of going through.

Whether they are straight reds is debatable particularly Whittakers but you don't do stupid things to let the ref give you a red card.
 
Rangers will struggle to buy any decent players now, I reckon. CL football is a big draw and you know you've got the money coming in, so they could afford one maybe two decent players.

Its not happening now, though.
 
That bougherra has been a walking red card for a while now! I dunno what happened to the player he was a couple of seasons back. He doesn't seem interested. You lot are better off without him IMO.

Last time you were knocked out at this stage you bought bougherra, Davis, lafferty et al. So might not be a bad thing

Not necessarily as we would still have had to get through another play-off. However, there's no doubt that lack of discipline cost us the game tonight. There were a few other Rangers players who were lucky to stay on the field. I feel that this is Ally's first real test as a manager. There's a perception that he's still 'one of the boys', so this is his chance to show that he's the boss. There's not a lot he can do about Boogie as he's off, but Whittaker ought to be fined a couple of weeks' wages and a few others need some hair-dryer treatment.

Thats exactly it. He simply has lost interest.
 
be lucky to get 1.5 for bougherra now that he put on 5 stone and has been sauntering around a bad league for umpteen years.

Yous shooda cashed in after the world cup before he got that deal with burger king
 
Last time Rangers lost at this stage they bought bougherra, Davis ,Laugherty if it wasn't for the things that happen in Scottish football !!!!! These buys would have been the final nail in Rangers coffin, delighted by tonights result will our press finally admit your team is full of thugs , which you got away with in last years Scottish cup tie

The way Whittaker threw that ball, he should be jailed.
 
Your players get away with it in Scotland , then when you play in Europe the referee implies the correct rules and you wonder why you don't win, look at bougherra tackle on hopper in last years cup tie , every ref in the world would have shown red
