The take over must be close if its as rumours go the Chinese are meeting the fa on monday Finger crossed.......
So if the takeover isn't done, then the Allams will still be in charge. So how can it not be them spending money? Do you mean, "the Chinese are providing transfer funds to allow us to strengthen."?
If the Chinese are funding this way of buying, technically isn't illegal in football for a 3rd party to fund a transfer.
Chinese put money in before takeover to ensure their investment in the club isn't wasted by us being relegated. Pre contract agreement that this investment is reflected in the agreed sale price of the club. Which also prevents Allams taking the money and backing out.
Don't want to rush takeover procedures but also don't want the club to be relegated due to lack of investment. It's their transfer list.
I'd be very worried if we were thinking of investing that much in one player. Think Palace are taking a big gamble personally but they have been getting a bit desperate.
My preference would be 3 players at £8-£9m each and 2-3 bosman frees. I find it very strange that Hal Robson Kanu is still without a club.
