<laugh> Well done. Mr WS wants to shout out the window at our neighbour (same ones) banging their wheelie bin about after 11pm when it due to be collected the next day. He (neighbour) then trundles it past our house down to the road. I won't repeat what Mr WS says he's going to do to our neighbour!

A friend (all 4.9 of her) turned a hose on a neighbour's bonfire yelling, 'Not before 6.' Wish I'd seen it. I have a general rule of being easy going with neighbours and ignore one off things like parties etc, but am lucky I have only had one poor neighbour (the aforesaid spotlight queen).

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/woman-who-filmed-hunter-husband-8652216

Saw an article recently about a man killing a bear with a spear....it ran off and its body was found a day later. Truly dreadful. This man and his wife like to hunt with spears and bows. Annoyed to find that UnderArmour sponsor the woman and women hunting in general. Absolutely loathe the use of the term harvesting to describe killing a bear....that should only be used by indigenous people who really live off the land and intend to fully utilize the carcass.

There's nothing clever or macho about hunting for sport. Don't get me started. :steam: :headbang: :emoticon-0121-angry

They lured the bear in with a literal honey trap (honey in a log), so didn't even do tracking and stalking. Culling is sometimes necessary, but never heard of that with bears (unless someone knows better). The truly horrible part is that hunting (sorry, harvesting) in this manner is that the animal isn't killed straight away. This bear took hours, perhaps even a day, to die.

Anyone watch a couple of really interesting documentaries on Channel 4 recently? Heroes of Helmand was a particularly gripping story about how our troops were left to defend Musa Qala from the Taliban, leaving three dead. And last night, Secrets of a Police Marksman was a story detailing the pressures put on the armed police that have to make split second decisions on when to open fire.
    Excellent TV from Channel 4.

No, but I heard the police marksman on the radio yesterday. Very interesting so I'll watch the documentary on player. Additionally one of my best friend's husband is a police marksman and has been through similar. He was involved in a couple of well publicised shootings.

They get so much stick when things go wrong but they work under pressures that the rest of us will thankfully never encounter.

I think police should be protected against prosecution if their actions are in good faith. I get angry when someone is shot whilst brandishing a replica weapon or starting pistol and their relatives cry foul. I don't expect the police to risk their life or that of the public because some no mark is risk taking. And all this nonsense about 'could have aimed for his arm/leg/little finger'....if you shoot someone, you shoot to stop them.

I watched the police marksman programme, and I agree it was very good tv.
It was insightful and you got to see it from another angle ...not the media trying to sell papers.

Aha, there's the rub. You can enjoy your patio provided you like the smell of BBQ. Plus the attendant babble of people enjoying themselves. ;)

It's not the smell....it's the rolling smoke. It's like being an extra in The Fog.

Charlie Webster out of coma and talking, but kidneys not working properly. :( She wasn't taking malaria drugs because she was told it was unnecessary....not that the drugs are always effective.
