I was thinking what song would boost the players after the names of the players have been read out before kick off....

    my choice is......I (we)will survive...

any others that would be appropriate...

    That`s a good shout Bongo.
It all depends what sort of thing you`re looking at.
I would have thought it best to be a bit of a rocker. Floyd`s - "Run Like Hell", "Rollin `N ` Tumblin" by quite a few (Johnny Winter, Cream, Canned Heat etc).

And of course there`s the one that we should say very quietly "Do you wanna be in my gang" - Paul Gadd.

Can I suggest one from a local singer for us and the neighbours ?

If so then I go for Bonnie Tyler's Holding Out For A Hero for us and for the neighbours It's A Heartache, mind you Embarrassment by Madness or Help by The Beatles would be apt for them too

    surely you don't mean......

    My name is Jack (deedle-deedle-deedle-dum)
    I'm a necrophiliac (deedle-deedle-deedle-dum),
    I ****s dead wimmen (deedle-deedle-deedle-dum),
And I fills 'em full of jism.
    I get frustrated (deedle-deedle-deedle-dum),
    When they're cremated (deedle-deedle-deedle-dum),
Cause try as I must (deedle-deedle-deedle-dum),
    I can't **** dust!
Each time I pass a cemetery gate,
I whip it out and masturbate.

Hardly appropriate Dai but if it's one of your personal favourites then feel free to hum it to yourself.

as they never get to play the whole song .... the intro and the chorus to this would get me, and I believe any Jack (player or fan) , right up for it

and only if someone could record this with 'swansea' instead of 'lumber' and make some of the lyrics more 'jackish'....it would make me smile and sing every time! Perhaps not good for the players but a great one to warm up the crowd before a cold winters game or during half time ..................

true enough scott..... it is a bit of a bug bear that a football team plays songs prior to playing..... back in the gold old days we relied on the gift of the voice and no need for drums (we had the boards at the back of the North Bank).

The point is, with all seating and family areas et al.....can any club soley rely on the vocal support now. If a standard song gets the crowd and players shackles going then all good, but it can be overkill sometimes. It seems to have worked so far but I do look back with rose tinted glasses also. Sorry to take it off thread, but everything in moderation I believe.

"Ain`t no stopping us now" - I think that`s what it`s called, don`t know who it`s by. Was`nt it some crappy disco song, probably 80`s stuff.
