I'm going to butt in here and tell you the one area where I think Fraser needs to improve.
Reading long balls, that force the CBs to run back and clear. There was a perfect example against Watford, where VVD had to chase back and hook the ball clear for a Watford throw in, when the long ball had "keeper's" written all over it, in block capitals.
This is a repeated issue, from my point of view, which could/should/might already be worked on in training.

Palace agree £32m fee with Liverpool for Benteke

For context, that's what St Mary's Stadium cost us

Basically a million each seat, how many years would you need to have your season ticket for to pay that seat off?

    Kane
    Aguero
    Vardy
    Costa
    Suarez
    Sturridge
    Touré
    Van Persie
    Bale
    Rooney

That's all the 20 goals or more Premier League players over the past five years. They are rarer than hens' teeth.

That is a bloody excellent signing. Benteke is an amazing striker. Liverpool didn't use him correctly at all, don't be fooled. He is a class act. I would take him over Lukaku personally, and Lukaku is valued at 75mil.
I predict him to flourish at palace.

Also, if we were still playing a 4-2-3-1, he would have been an absolutely perfect Pelle replacement.
He is basically Pelle, just stronger, better finisher, quicker, better hold up play.

I can't recall that particular incident to pass comment, but I would agree that Fraser is cautious and rarely strays too far from his line.

In my very amateur goalkeeping experience, it's very important that if you do leave your line, that you make it to the ball because you're essentially leaving an open and guaranteed goal.
If there is a good chance a defender can deal with a situation then it's best to leave them to do it, even if they're facing their own goal

Not as good looking though <laugh> I don't necessarily think he's stronger either but that's just my opinion.

Yeh Benteke beats Pelle with age and that's about it, in my opinion.

I know complaining is frowned upon on here but this transfer window has been a huge anti climax. We are awash with money compared to most clubs in europe and yet really struggle to bring anyone other than youngsters in. I expected more for a club so close to champions league places last season.

Let's hope for something in the last few days

Fraser, in my opinion is slow/indecisive about when to come off his line. This has the effect of causing indecision amongst the defense and there are worse goalkeepers in the prem that are quicker off the line than Fraser.
In all honesty, I can't remember any examples of his slowness causing us to concede but there are other weaknesses that have. Off the top of my head, I could give 5 examples of goals that he let in last season where he could have done a lot better (again it's my opinion). I can list them if you wish but I don't want this post to sound as if I sit there looking for Fraser's faults, they are just my observations.
Fraser is a good keeper but he has weaknesses that someone of his stature should (and hopefully will) be ironing out of his game.

Think we're planning around a large step back this year. We missed Champions League by three points, and then announced a five-year plan to reach Champions League. We aren't targeting Europe in the short-term...we're either targeting youth development, pure profit, or some combination thereof.
