Did anyone else notice that we no longer seem to have any?

The whole stadium is now just branded KCOM.

And was there no 'good afternoon East Stand' bollocks, I can't actually remember?

I saw that the new boards with Hull Tigers on ( the ****s ) were obscuring the old boards, can't imagine those who paid for that place would be happy.

You are correct there was no East Stand / West stand Bollocks, which was great, hopefully it just wasn't for this match.

Its been like it for a few months, ever since the work on the pitch after the Rod Stewart concert if I remember correctly.

It looks a lot better for it, I used to think all the adverts looked a bit tacky.

Plus if people want to bring flags it shouldn't be an issue now, the previous excuse was that they would cover adverts but thats not a problem anymore.

That last bit is exactly right. I was talking to the Head of Comms at KCOM about this a while ago about the plans to increase their sponsorship of the stadium to include all the stands rather than each stand having its own sponsor. I asked if that meant they'd be open to flags and stuff since their branding will be everywhere anyway, and she completely agreed and even rhetorically asked why wouldn't they be flexible with things like that to make fans happy.

I thought at the time I'll remember that for when it comes up and the club use sponsors as an excuse to prevent banners etc.

I wondered if they'd missed that out only because they knew of the protest, and they didn't want a repeat of last season when it got roundly booed during the red card protest.

I asked him about it a few years ago, told him it was naff. Said he only did it to give the stand sponsors a mention.

Why do KCOM bother sponsoring the sports teams in Hull so heavily?

They have a monopoly on Hull and nobody has any other legit or reliable alternative to using KCOM. So why spend all that money on advertising?

Don't get me wrong they now do a lot of out of town work but I aren't entirely sure that is the way of drumming up business for it.

Brand awareness nationally is useful. The shares are quoted on the stock exchange nationally and customers outside of the regulated area in East Yorks can be national; like Bupa and the tax offices.

Be careful if you take it down, she might want you to decorate the room.

Raising brand awareness, mainly for attracting large enterprise customers. NHS and Domino's are the two biggest they have at the moment.
