It is 5 years ago today that the mighty Swans played their first game in the Premiership. Has not time flown especially as everyone outside Swansea said it would be a short stay ..Little did they know what a remarkable team we were and every manager has left their mark and yes even Laudrup who i did not and still dont think he was right for the club.....But hey we are still going strong and getting the results we need to stay here (much to the annoyance of our cousins up the road). As its our 5th anniversary it will be interesting to see which game in the last 4 seasons is your most memorable......Happy Anniversary fellow jacks.... My most memorable was doing the double over Arsenal and Man utd in a single season that not many if any has achieved before......
QPR 0 Swans' 5. Swans' 3 Cardiff 0. Any wins against the 'big boys', especially away from home. Valencia 0 Swansea 3
So many games to ponder over, Michu's first season was electric, and his performance at the Emirates was outstanding to win that game, but then last seasons win over West Ham at their place was a peach. I miss Ferrie Bodde's genius in our midfield, and his wonder goal at Preston was up there with the best you'll ever see in the Premier league. Where we will go this season only time will tell, but it will only be up, and I cannot wait for certain pundits to have egg on their faces once again at the end of another great season for the mighty Swans........... please log in to view this image
There are so many memorable games in the last 4 seasons that's for sure so it is hard to chose and also but not that many i wish to forget a few as well..
Fulham away in the snow( 1st season ) for the pure football we played and it has to be Cardiff home , a game easy to remember for the score , the crowd and the fact we haven't played them since
That was the game where we won over a lot of people from the other side of Offa's Dyke. They saw at first hand that we took representing England seriously.
One of my favourites was in our first season up, away at the Hawthorns in the snow. Gylfi in fine form, coming back from a goal down to win 2-1 in that 'beautiful' orange away kit!
My favourite games; QPR 5-0 away or WBA 3-1 home where we played with 3 wingers all swapping positions during the match.
I never thought for a minute with the transfers we landed that summer that we would survive , it's then when I truly learned the concept of our " Team play " A lot of players who started with us in League 1 held a position in the starting line up in the Premier To make a long story short ...I had little faith . It's the single biggest reason I don't want to spend big on players , I've been spoiled by team effort under the right manager
