@Diego is a closet Liverpool fan with a deep lying love of Emre Can that he's fighting.

Judgement of Moreno is not based on one or two arguable incidents, it's based on him running the gamut of elementary defensive errors time after time.
Anyone who refuses to see this is just being wilfully blind, imo. It's nice to be loyal to our own, but when the guy is continually putting points at risk then I believe that that loyalty is misguided.

his current injury is an achilles tendon injury, not the ACL.

I think we seriously need to see that gomez has a long way to go to get even back to where he was at 12months ago

he's not an lb, he's completely one footed.

    They say 18.25.
We'll bring him on for the second half after Bert has shipped 3.

I don't know whether any of this is in response to my last comment but I agree with everything you've said here. I will just add that unfortunately when a player is as poor as Moreno, he's easy to criticise and blame when sometimes [not very often] he wasn't as at fault as some make him out.

Just as an aside, if you look at the resting picture on that youtube I posted, Moreno's feet are certainly not studs up or lunging at Walcott. Having said that, if I was in the refs position, I would call a penalty.

Moreno also made a horrendous mistake earlier in the game, heading the ball through for Ramsey, who luckily had a poor touch. Moreno then came flying in with both feet and fortunately won the ball. He is a constant liability.

I'm more than happy to replace Moreno with Milner as soon as he is fit. Not a LB obviously but a solid, experienced pro who will
improve things (in the short term anyway)

The irony is that Moreno had a terrible first half but wasn't at fault for any of the goals.

    Football is a funny game.

He was at fault for the penalty and the first goal the vast majority agree on that and have detailed why he was at fault even though Lallana lost the ball.

The penalty didn't result in the goal - and he wasn't fully fault for the first goal because his job is to support the attack which is what he was doing.

There was plenty of space down that left flank which he ran into and Lallana should have gone that way instead of doing a bit of ballet, and ultimately turning into the tackler.

Unless Moreno can predict the future and expected Lallana to lose possession within 2 seconds of breaking, he would have had to hold his run at which point he could have lost the opportunity to find the space because he would be up against Bellerin, who is no slouch.

We had enough bodies at the back to defend the situation and he should have been covered. The reason he is the only one being highlighted because you have the likes of Neville and Carra devoting most of their time on it and failing to see the other issues.

I'm not exonerating Moreno because he was abysmal in the first half - arguably one of the worst performances I've seen.

Just saying that he's getting the blame when he was hardly involved in the actual goals we conceded. <ok>.

Nonsense, I've replied to this before. The job of a wing back is to support the attack and join it if required and at the right time and not like Moreno who tries to keep right up with the attack which makes it immposible to recover if the ball is lost. I've played the position all my career and at a good standard, there's no way I'm that far forward as my primary job is to defend. Read the attack and join late if needed.

For ****s and giggles I'll say that if Clyne had been as high up as Moreno, lala would have had an out ball and not got caught <laugh>

    Clynes fault.

And what about the midfield and defence who should be covering for our full backs when they go forward?

Are you expecting the full backs to attack and defend at the same time?

Agreed but I think Klopp has instructed him to seek to get forward at every opportunity (I'm not sure why because he's pretty **** doing that too). There has to be an issue with a lack of awareness from the rest of the team i.e. they know that's what he's going to be doing so others should be covering his runs.

This I agree on, as the full back moves the deep midfielder should be looking to cover his move forward and drift left. Again though this should only happen as the attack progressess and the midfielder shouldn't move left too early as he will leave a gap through the middle. No way around it Moreno goes full on attack too quickly which causes the problem, he does it a lot and needs to stop.

Lol it's true though. Although Lallana should have been aware of the space down the left flank and turned into the tackler.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If Lallana broke free, we were in a great position.

We need to be able to cover our full backs better - Moreno was awful but he wasn't actually dribbled past, unlike Clyne who was beaten 4 times, one of which led to a goal.

The whole back line made mistakes which need resolving.
