What an amazing run by the 19 year old Ruth Jebet in the women's 3000m steeple chase. She just missed the world record. Sensational.

 

Surely it's another Gold for Charlotte after that. Fingers crossed she isn't pipped by the Germans

 

She has it sewn up now Ron. Crowd not one bit happy the American has made the placings ahead of the Spanish girl.

More heart warming stuff from the games. American Abbey D'Agnostino clips New Zealander Nikki Hamblin from behind in a 5000m heat. Both ladies' chances went straight out the window, but the wonderful spirit shown by the athletes will not go unrewarded. The powers that be have since given both women a place in the final.
