They'll play New Zealand (who knocked out one of he favourites Australia) who GB beat in London in the bronze medal match in 2012.

Marion competed for Ventura HS BMB and I watched her run many times as we lived just up the 101 in Santa Barbara and my son, who was the small schools California 400 meter champion, competed in many of the same local and state meets. She was not only a HS phenomenon but also a top draft pick basketball player. Too bad her coach decided to enhance her times with steroids. She didnt need them.

I've just seen the heavyweight boxing final. The result seemed somewhat dodgy so of course it was a Russian that benefited.
It seems dodgy and Russia go hand in hand.

Attendance numbers seems low for many events - must be the ticket mark up price by the Ipswich Town owner!!!

Steroids aren't forced down athletes throats by their coaches - she made the choice to cheat, she got caught and paid the price.

A lot of people forgot how poorly attended some events were in 2012. The pool and many other venues were basically empty for ****loads of events despite having sold out for all of them and there was a huge outcry against sponsors and the Olympic family taking their ticket allocations and then not attending.

    I'll quote myself from yesterday.
It would seem Russian sport is rife in this kind of attitude.

I don't blame Conlan at all, he was well robbed. He easily won the fight.

That's two incredibly dodgy decisions going to the Russians in as many days. Not that they've ever done anything controversial in the past though...

    Indeed.

How long before we get a documentary or a media/press story and it comes to light that Russia were offering bribes and everyone just says 'no **** Sherlock'.

Just playing devil's advocate, if that is the case then you need to look more closely at the people taking the bribes rather than those offering them. Its the same with the doping situation, I really do think there was a blame deflection from WADA, the IOC or whoever regarding that. Yes Russia obviously broke the rules with the doping but why isnt the finger being pointed at the organisations who didn't spot it earlier? How could they be allowed to get so far into a state sponsored doping programme?

Steve Bunce was interviewed by john Inverdale.. He said there are 60 judges in the pool. 5 are allocated a fight or session or whatever and then 3 are picked at random to actually vote.. If its rigged its wholesale rigging...

Well, there has to be something going on involving the Russians, considering just how wrong these decisions were. Both Russians never looked anywhere near like winning their fights.
