After Paddy McNair scored an own goal vs Man City at the weekend and today learning that the great Charlie Hurley scored an OG on his debut too....

What is your most memorable OG for whatever reason ??

Gary Bennett playoff final vs Swindon ???

How good was the technique in Vergini's volley though. <laugh>

Another one I liked was Lee Dixon almost straight after ko in a fa cup tie. Tried lobbing it back to Seaman to give him an early touch but it sailed straight over his head!

It was such a sweet strike, that's what made it so brilliant. Most strikers in the world would have been proud of that!

The Dixon one I mentioned above:

I'd forgotten about that that was brilliant! Who was it again?

Up there with Jon Walters scoring 2 own goals and missing a pen in the same game <laugh>

Played for a load of clubs in the 4th division before retiring when he was about 30.

When he came through, we were at a really low point and our players were terrible. He was never going to be a top level player, and so it showed when he left the club.

    Sunderland, Rotherham, Hartlepool, Wrexham...

From the start of the 2014/15 season, Michael began to work as a co-host for Sun FM's Into The Light football show, discussing all things Sunderland with a member of the news team. This isn't an area of work Michael had intentionally planned on getting into after retiring, as he had previously been involved in coaching at East Durham College. Since becoming a frequent visitor to the Stadium of Light to undergo his media duties, Michael has begun to work closer with the Sunderland media team, most notably interviewing Jermain Defoe about his winning goal in a game against fierce rivals Newcastle United.

Yep some players you can see will never make it and it just pains you to know they're in the team, was that the year you went down with a really low total?

Wes Brown deserves a shout out for being so prolific. Don't remember many screamers but he seemed to average one goal in every two games which is pretty good going.
