please log in to view this image Well, we are back again Saints travel to the current league leaders for a Friday night fixture at Old Trafford. A victory could catapult us to the top of the table . Three in a row at Old Trafford? You bet. We always play well at Old Trafford and have not lost in 3 years. Will we keep that going? OF COURSE!!!!!!!!! As usual, any negativity will be ridiculed and happy clapping is actively encouraged. I’m even getting the Sunderland thread ready now as well The SSSSSS start with a slightly different look than last year. The biggest change and looking at all the comments is the diamond or We March On!!!!!!!! Claude Puel’s Red and White Army. So we return to action with an extra day’s rest over Utd who beat Bournemouth a day after we were unlucky not to beat Watford at St Mary’s. It may be me, but Utd were not as convincing as the score line suggested, and I think we can do this again this year, even without the FLD at the helm. I think we’ll make a few changes as we were so much better in the second half, though as another poster suggested, that may have been down to Puel printing off the positive match thread from this site and leaving it on the players seats for their half-time return! This will be a shorter match thread and I’ll add to it tomorrow as work is getting in the way of a decent thread at the moment!!!! I think SSSSSS go into the game quite positive and knowing that Utd are not to fear anymore. Mourinho may be trying to unsettle his countryman, but it won’t work – we are the Saints and we can do this! There is, as always with us, no reason to see anything other than a win. We may even top the table at the end of the game . We finished last season on a roll and haven’t lost in pre season or our opening game. In fact, our last feeling of a loss was on the 3rd of April to the eventual Premier League Champions and before that it was the 1st of March!!!! That is a SEVEN game unbeaten run in the Premier league, all overseen by yours truly. I’m not ready to relinquish my match thread so I can’t see it anything other than a EIGHT game streak! What formation will we play? The diamond is looking like the way forward. Once we get used to it and realise (as fans) that it is a fluid formation we’ll be good. We have one injury worry – Bertrand, though we seem to have a captain also that is not in a good place. My team: Forster Pied Fonte VVD Target Romeu Davis Højbjerg Tadić Redmond Long Bench: McCarthy, Cedric, Maya, Clasie, Ward-Prowse, Austin, JRod Højbjerg has to be a starter for me – he gave us a new dimension on Saturday and I really think the man named after feet should start in place of Cedric. I’m tempted to start with Austin, but I can’t justify dropping Redmond or Long or Tadic. Utd have no injury worries that I know of, and they may start with an ex player of theirs who has returned – can’t really remember his name Remember this last time?: As usual when we play Utd, it is good to post this video Matchday officials: TBA COYR!!! PS Man U fans, this is quite tongue in cheek and the positive happy clapping thread

Well the season needs to get going some time and we don't exactly have the easiest fixtures. I'm pretty positive about things nevertheless but with the likely loss to United it'll be good to get a win ASAP.
Guys. Even if you think we're...no, not going to say it. Even if you think we're not going to win, this is the positive match thread, flip those losses around. We're going to win 0-2!! Long and Austin COYR
Don't write us of just yet, a terrible home record last year, added to the pressure of mourinhos first home game, live on the box, with them a bit cocky after a win against the mighty Bournemouth. 0-1. Luke Shaw og.
Says were sold out , but can't see the away end being full given they stupidly decided to play it on a Friday night given us no time to finish work and get up to Manchester.
