I've banged on about it before but Arnau Riera looked like he was going to be an absolute legend on his debut only for it all to go to **** in the next game
Yep, the same lad who captained Barcelona B team, that had the likes of Messi and Iniesta in it. He still visits Sunderland a bit and comes to watch our games.
He had such a left foot on him, I was in awe. I reckon he'd have been a legend if it had worked out for him. Just shows how fine the margins are
When you get yourself 10 minutes free time, have a read of this, it's Riera's story which I found really interesting. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...uture-stars-who-never-made-it?is_shared=true#
He became something great to watch.... Unlike Merkels big hairy rat (although I'm sure you'll disagree )
After the instant success from Arca most of us were buzzing when we signed his international and former Argentinos Juniors team mate Nicolas Medina for 3.5m. I dont think he actually ever played for us but he strangely kept getting picked for the national team?
I got the wrong end of the stick with this thread after just browsing through the last few posts. Medina may not count if he never actually had a debut (I cant remember). What about Paraguay international Riveros? We beat a load of teams to get him on a free. He was absolute Gash in the little game time he got.
80/81 season kicked of today with a 3-1 over Everton. A certain player, now England manager makes his debut. But how well did he do?
Duffy (Blackburn Rovers) has knocked two in tonight at Cardiff in the first 20 mins, he could be on for a record.
