So you are talking about "the consequences of the vote" not "having left the EU".
What we voted for was leaving the EU and we will get that in 2 or 3 years time.
You really get a confused a lot.

No, Pete. I think it's you that's confused!

I've explained it in clear enough terms. If you can't or won't grasp it, there's little point continuing!....

You said: "As they say, you voted for it!....you got it...."
I voted to leave the EU.
You said I got it. But we haven't left the EU so I haven't got what I voted for. We are still in the EU. This is a very simple concept but you dont seem to understand it.
Anyway this whining about a second EU referendum seems to have reduced and the MPs have stopped talking about being undemocratic.
The Labour Party is returned to deciding whether they are the second party in Westminster or the fourth and fifth.

How's the Sensible Party progressing? If you got into power would you make it compulsory for everyone to wear skanky tracksuit bottoms for their Sunday walk with the mongrel?

Tracky bottoms are the Sensible choice when you're the size of a small hatchback

Vote Sensible

Vote Sensible
I'd vote Sensible just to see Pete waddle into the Commons wearing his tracky bottoms and egg stained Sports Direct top with his enormous gut hanging out. It would be the greatest white trash moment in British political history. Maybe they'd let him take the dog with him.

Pete, don't be so ****ing pedantic, and or stupid. You either know exactly what I mean or you're completely dense!

So, which one is it!....

So you haven't got what you voted for (which is the point I have been making for a while so thanks for confirming that) but the economy is tanking. Well done, a great victory!

You will only be in a position to know what being outside the EU is like once we are outside of the EU. Saying we have got it now is ridiculous.
We've already got the economic impact of merely voting for it.

Once Article 50 is triggered that impact will be further exacerbated, and it won't be in the positive.

What you've 'got' is a sneak peak at what lies ahead.

Pete, as even you must have been aware, we can't leave the EU for more than 2 years. However, unless a large dose of common sense comes over the UK - which is highly unlikely - we will be leaving.

The markets always anticipate. Ever heard, 'buy the rumour, sell the fact?' But, this is much more than that. Confidence is shot in all areas. The BOE has had to lower rates. Hedge funds have the biggest bear positions on sterling ever ( hope you're not planning a holiday to,Europe? ). Lower growth, higher unemployment, larger trade and budget deficits. I could go on and on about all the 'benefits' of this stupidity!

And this is all before we've even left!....

You dont seem to know anything. We can leave the EU before two years.
Article 50 3: "The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period."
To explain it because you don't seem to be aware of these things. The state leaves when the withdrawal agreement says. If there's no withdrawal agreement then it's two years unless the European Council and the member state agrees to extend.
It's very straightforward but you seem to be getting everything wrong.

And yet the government are delaying. That should tell everyone that they know it's going to cause chaos.

But that's why you're being pedantic...you voted for one thing and have realised that's never going to happen. Bad luck Pete, you'll just have to be an angry old man living in fear and hatred until you croak.

Pete, I give up. You really are as thick and pedantic as I thought.

The negotiations for this will take an absolute minimum of 2 years. Minimum! Given the huge differences in positions between the two sides, more like 5 yrs plus!

In the meantime, we can all look forward to the many 'benefits' that this idiocy has brought continuing!.

You said: "we can't leave the EU for more than 2 years"
You were wrong. We can. You dont have a clue how long negotiations will take. You get it wrong and then you change your tune. UK could insist on leaving after two years without any agreement in place. You keep throwing out your insults yet all the time you show you don't know the rules and try to make out you are just going by guesswork. You whine about people insulting yet you do it more than anybody else.

Yeah that'd be a genius move wouldn't it <doh>

Reverting to the WTO tariffs and losing access to any of the EU World trade deals to boot.

The chances of a full free trade agreement being in place within 2 years is slim to **** all, given the timescales of other similar EU deals. Hence the reason there's no rush to pull the trigger.

Pete, I'm tired of explaining this, ffs. Anybody with one tenth of a brain knows this will take a minimum of 2 years. And I'll bet any amount you want it takes far longer than that.

I've tried to remain polite, but there are limits when your pedancy is concerned!.

I think both of you are misunderstanding each other.

When A50 is invoked you leave after 2 years, deal or no deal.
But as NSIS says it will take longer than 2 years to fully implement.

"We can't leave the EU for two years"
Does that mean: "It will take more than two years to negotiate the deal to leave the EU" or does it mean "The rules state we can't leave the EU for two years." I would say that it's clearly the latter but somebody who doesn't know the rules wont admit it.
