Afternoon all, I came on this board a while ago and had a real good chat with some Sunderland fans on here who were more than accommodating so I thought I'd just pop back and see what the mood is like in the SAFC camp? A lot has happened to NUFC in recent weeks and from where I'm sat they look like they are imploding and SAFC now look a shoe in to at least beat them at SoL this season. I understand what derby's are like and I'm not asking you to stick your necks out here, but how do you feel heading into the new season and the derby? I know a lot of Newcastle and Liverpool fans so if you could take 6 points off them you would virtually become my 2nd team. I have never liked Newcastle which is something I have in common with SAFC fans. but for some reason have a lot of time for Sunderland and even moreso after coming on here. Already excited for the game on September 10th
Hiya Mate Im apprehensive going into every season and to be honest a comfortable top 10 finish for a couple of seasons and a good cup run i would be happy. As for the Derby game im 56 been going since i was 10 and derby games have me nervous as hell. Its about time we won and i think we are fairing better than them at the min. I think 2-0
Alright District Line mate: how the devil are you? The banter between our two sets of fans is building up very nicely...There is the usual mixture of bravado and apprehension on both sides of the divide...As I stated in an earlier article, the only thing predictable about this fixture is that it will be unpredictable! I must confess that I bloody hate these games because it rips my nerve ends to shreds, but by god it's great when we win them..
I'm great thanks mate how are you? Only thing that has got me on a downer is no new signings yet and the fact we won't be able to compete with City or United but oh well! I'm amazed they are letting Barton and Enrique go. I feel a good Sunderland win coming on the 20th, I wouldn't bet against Newcastle having 0 points after 2 games
I think we should be feeling confident with the experienced lads coming in to our side and Newcastle's French young'uns only in their second Prem League game but as always leading up to the game I'm nervous as hell. Both clubs have tricky first games although I think ours against Liverpool is likley to be tougher - ceratinly tougher physically - and despite what some folks say I think Liverpool are going to have a cracking year while I feel this year Arsenal won't be top 4. Depends how the sides respond to those results too... if either side has a poor performance in game one then I would say nerves will come into play. Head says 3:1 to Sunderland, heart says
i was confident last season so i'm saying nowt, as for the pre match atmosphere it's absolutely unreal, like waiting for your 1st child being born
