Sorry I missed you all at the pub yesterday (again!) but I didn't get to Southampton until 2pm due to my mate taking a shortcut that was actually us going from Bmth to Salisbury then back to fordingbride then to Cadnam! Idiot... Agree with you all, passing poor first half, Pierre looks good as does pied. Redmond will be great. It WAS a red too in my view - I sit in the Itchen halfway between the edge of the area and the hallway line and high up (Row HH). Shane was away. Gotta dash as I need to go and drink some wine in the garden and prepare the next match thread for tomorrow [emoji6]
Great summary and thought the same about point 5 re Davis. If he is on his game, then so are the team.
Don't wish to drag up old dirty washing but still amazes me the amount, and there are hundreds, of fans who walk out well before the end of the game. Loads left with still 10 mins to go, that's 15 mins missed with added time. Firstly I believe the players deserve to be applauded off the pitch. Secondly, I just don't understand why you would leave, not knowing the result. I might just get it if we were 4-0 up or 0-4 down but with the game poised 1-1 with us pressing why leave? What can be so important. Do these people leave their own weddings before the vows, do these people take their washing out of the washing machine before the spin cycle, do they turn off the grand prix before the final lap. They must have very important busy lives or maybe they are a bit plastic.
After spending hours reading the washing machine instructions, Mrs RAWMOK told me there is a spin cycle at the end. Thought I'd share.
I mentioned to flt on the way back how shocked I was at the number leaving early. One or two I could understand as they were obviously not that steady on their feet and it was probably safer for them to leave before the crowds but the others... the last 5 minutes yesterday were on a knife-edge so how can you walk out on that?!
I guess the litmus test is will you be coming back for a another game? A) Off the bucket list, but not for me B) Checking the calendar for when I can make it next C) See you at the Sunderland match
Definitely coming back if it can be arranged. It'll have to be a Saturday game because I'm shattered today - haven't even got energy to do the dishes! - because it was a very long day (not helped by still being awake to watch Mo win his gold this morning). I can't make the Sunderland game so the next Saturday home is Liverpool in November!!
Before the next home game, someone should have a word with Hojberg and tell him that trying to rouse the Chapel enders out of their slumber, by waving his arms at them, after winning a corner, is not the done thing.
