Seeing as we are looking to buy more youngsters. Plus our best u18 players are in the u23's, I would say so.
I'm going to guess these players will either be loaned or sold. They've moved on from this level for better or worse
We did hammer Liverpool last season as well. Hopefully we don't hesitate in bringing players up to this level
I may be wrong, but it has always seemed to me that our youth team uses league games for experimentation, whilst taking the cup games more serious. The youth cup seems to carry more prestige than the league. Would really like to see the first team taking this approach (at least for a season or two).
Experimentation and pushing yoof to play at older age groups, hence why league results were often poor. It's long been the way though. Back in the 80's, we'd have Youth team players playing in the reserves and then school boys making up the number son the youth team. When the cups came around, we'd play our strongest youth team.
Ticket details for the first group match away to Charlton £10 for adults - £5 for under 21s and over 65s Will be interesting to see how this experiment goes. With Charlton in disarray, I would not be surprised if this game doesn't get 1,000 fans if home supporters are charged the same rate.
I know ST holders like their own seats, but I think they might as well open one stand and sell to anyone. Can't see a large crowd for an U23 match. Better to have a reasonable number all together in one stand.
I did like the start, kick-off, pass, put under pressure, boot it straight out. We teach 'em young here
