The Airco is included in the lease between the City Council and the SMC. If the Chinese obtain the shares in the SMC they are responsible for managing the Airco.

So the likelihood of it opening back up for public use (other than football) will still be doubtful?

I'm not surprised. Hull City Tigers Limited are currently paying £4 million a year in rent. We have lent the SMC over £9 million to keep it afloat since the Allams took over. Which puts the effective rent at something well over £5 million a year. If I was the Chinese I'd be looking at handing the stadium back to the Council and negotiating a new lease with a sensible rent, something similar to the West Ham deal.

The best place for the indoor pitch is with the rest of the academy. If the Chinese build an indoor pitch at the College then the Airco once again becomes available for the people of Hull and the surrounding area. If the Chinese negotiate a new lease with the City Council then it could exclude the Airco and the Council become responsible for running it.

Would the Council want to run it / have the cash to run it?

Again, it could be out of the frying pan and outsourced to yet another body to run.

The SMC pays nothing to the Council in rent, any rent shown in the accounts is purely an arrangement between the SMC and the club, they can make it anything they like.

Would it be difficult to secure tenants back in the Airco? They've all moved on to pastures new.

    It's privilege...Dickwad.

BTW, I don't agree with someone being blocked by Lambo or anyone else. Even if they are complete and utter numbnuts. There are too many consistencies in this, including which threads should be locked, which give the impression that their main offence is someone posting a view which differs from the mod's own as they have allowed similar comments from others before declaring that the politics/ religion ruling has been violated when one pops up they don't agree with.

The supermods give an automatic site ban for misuse of the report function, you're in danger of getting banned without any involvement from me.

The rent City pays has to cover the costs of running the SMC. The income from Hull FC and the college is subject to contracts and essentially fixed which means Hull City Tigers Limited picks up any shortfall. The shortfall is costing us £4 million a year rent plus accumulated loans of over £9 million. The SMC is a millstone around our necks.

I've heard the new owners are moving us to an underground bunker in Melton, and are handing the stadium to some egg chasers.

    ITK, me.

Only it's not picking up a shortfall, it's the club quite rightly having to pay for Premier League floodlights, media facilities, digital pitchside boards and all the other entirely football related costs put through the SMC.

Something that's going to change massively when the SMC expands into a property development company shortly (assuming it still goes ahead under the new owners).

What about the non-football related costs, such as maintaining the stadium? If the costs increase the SMC cannot increase the rent for Hull FC.

When the Allams discovered the neglect caused under Bartlett Hull City paid the full costs of putting it right. As the stadium gets older the renovation costs increase. Unless substantial extra sources of funds become available then Hull City is likely to foot the bill. I'm sure the Chinese, with their property experience, will see all that.

There's already plans to make the SMC profitable in its own right, plans that our property developing new owners will no doubt want to continue.

I assume that won't be overly good news for those we share a stadium with?

Also you say new owners and not potential new owners. Have you got confirmation that it's a done deal then?

Shed any light on those plans olm?

Always wanted us as a club to own our stadium, would it be more cost effective owning the kc?
Liked the thought of the allams proposed sports village , hotel, casino to increase hull ctiys income and furthering our wage ceiling/spending capacity

Lets hope the new guys want to maximise the potential of the stadium and the surrounding area for the benefit of hull city and of course themselfs

Problem with the allams was everything they did was purely to benefit themselfs with no consideration for traditions or the fans , hopefully the new guys will respect these
