Well, if you read the outcry on here Garry Monk should pack his bags and get lost ... even a bitter Swan has had a dig, forgetting how he cheered Monk in his only full season as he steered that crap club to an unbelievable eighth in the Prem, beating Arsenal and Scum home and away in the process

what Monk is finding out very quickly is that the pressure of playing for a global brand like Leeds is far higher than playing for tiny Swansea where there are no expectations to achieve ... since we have been outside the Prem we have seen that every League game has literally become a FA Cup Third Round tie, with all these clubs who will never get to the Prem absolutely fired up to be playing a giant like Leeds

our players have shown over the years we've been bobbing around aimlessly in the lower divisions that they can't cope with the Elland Road pressure ... we have signed players who have come with reputations but then literally "frozen" once they pulled on the White shirt ... I read a really good point on this exact issue about Billy Sharp failing miserably at Leeds although he is clearly a natural goalscorer (last season he was back on song banging in more than 20 goals for the Blades) ... our "failures" always seem to go on and shine at their new clubs when they leave, and this is because the "pressure of Leeds United" has been lifted from their shoulders and they feel a sense of freedom

Newcastle were relegated with a stupidly talented squad last season, but they suffered from the same "pressure" problem, with far too many of their quality signings struggling in the St James' Park cauldron that can be a demoralising place to play when the Geordies turn the atmosphere poisonous ... now these players are finding that if they don't stop the back heels and Cruyff turns, and rather roll up their sleeves and dig in, then the Championship is going to chew them up and spit them out faster than a fat nymph from Brum going down on Olof

this is why Monk is calling for unity and support from the stands, because Elland Road is a difficult place to play wearing the White shirt ... too easy to panic and freeze, and in essence that's what happened at QPR ... with so many new players not used to Elland Road and a bunch of youngsters still learning the game it is tough

Scum did it with "kids", but they had a very experienced spine with that cnut Cantona pulling the strings and leading the team ... we are short of three experienced players, right through our spine at centre back, centre midfield and centre forward ... where are the Chinese when you need them (now buying West Bromwich Fcuking Albion)

Get your hand off of it, Billy. Leeds are a (just) Championship club with unreal aspirations of becoming anything better. The way you are going , you'll be lucky to be a 'Championship Club' after this season. But don't be too disheartened, we'll wave to you on the way up. <laugh><laugh><laugh>

To be honest Billy, no malice of course, and the following comments are in general and not aimed at you personally.

I think many fans need to stop using Cellino as the scapegoat and whipping boy and see the problem for what it really is.

Cellino wants a manager/coach to hit the ground running and build up to a sprint, so do the fans.

Cellino wants promotion, so do the fans,

Cellino wanted to stabilize the club financially, he has, so did the fans.

The fans want 20m pound players, Leeds can't afford it at moment, one thing Cellino ain't doing is the Ridsdale Rumba, the Bates Bolero or the GFH Jig

The fans wanted Cellino too buy back ER, Cellino wanted too, and made enquiries about buying back ER, here lies the problem, GFH, they have no money and for the second time refuse to put any money into the club/team. Apparently Cellino now owns 88% of LUFC, so he's done a deal with GFH somewhere along line, to the betterment of the club.

If Cellino buys back ER, GFH's shares go up and they stand to make a small windfall without putting any money in, more so when we get to PL.

The question's been asked before, why can't Cellino buy ER for himself and rent it to LUFC etc, if he did GFH would present him with a big ongoing court case. I'm not exactly sure if Cellino can own ER separately while owning LUFC, maybe someone else might know the rules/laws on that one.

Leeds fans are probably the most passionate and loyal fans around world, but many are also blind and fickle to what actually happens behind scenes. Owning / running LUFC is same as running a business, they're subject to the same GB business laws as well as the FA/FL and FIFA laws.

The fans are frustrated and impatient, understandably so, so am I along with others on here; but many need to open their eyes a bit more and be a bit more understanding of what's happened, is happening and probably will happen.

Bottom line is, the manager/coach is the one who has to deliver, irrespective. Cellino has given Monk free reign to bring in the players he wants, even wavering his 31 yrs old rule, and Monk has, now it's Monk's responsibility to get the team firing on all 8 cylinders, not Cellinos.

I became cautious of Monk when he started getting rid of players without seeing them or giving them a chance to show their worth, personally, I think we've got rid of some better players at moment, as we did in last couple of seasons. Monk claimed he knows how to prepare a team for start of season, bold statement to make but obviously not, however, I'm open minded enough to give him a chance, if he don't deliver in next 3 or 4 matches then the sirens will be sounding, and many fans will turn against Monk, and Fulham, are up next.

Here's hoping he can take us up this season......:emoticon-0148-yes:

I want Monk to be given time but...

I thought Evans deserved a full season to build on what he achieved, I didn't want Monk in the first place and that team he took to 8th was Laudrup's team, look at what happened once he started making changes.

Monk has never managed in this division, I question Monks comments about cutting out a soft under belly when he sold/released players not given a chance (despite saying a clean slate) and he brought in 8 of that under belly.

Monk bottled it on Saturday, rather than go out with a team he built around 4-2-3-1 he changed it to 4-4-2 and according to WJ match report set out to counter the counter attack which never worked.

Pick your best 11 and play a formation you understand and believe in. Play players in their best position, If someone plays poor in a position drop them. Go out to win, let others worry about you, don't go altering it week to week trying to be a master tactician when you don't have players with the capability to chop and change what is expected of them.

There is a reason certain managers do well in getting teams promoted or challenging year in and year out from this division, they know it, they get average players doing what they do best, sadly those managers would or could never work under Cellino.

Forget Cellino being trigger happy, some fans are no better. Two league competitive games gone, that's all. Regardless of how things are going, Monk and his staff need a full season. The constant chopping and changing can't and won't work. It'll likely take the January window to clear out the remaining dead weight in the squad

    Monk needs a full season.....

Those two lines don't go together, if things don't get better in the next few games Monk will be out... Yes I had my doubts about him but I did Evans too and Evans proved me wrong.

I totally agree with you, we need to build and give Monk, his staff and players time but that won't happen. Our mad owner has promised a refund on season tickets if we don't do it this season, how long do you think he will give it?

I gaurantee Cellino won't wait till January.

Monk inherited a good team from Laudrup and was showered with 7 million £. CB and a other 80 thousand a week striker to enhance our strike capabilities along with Bony .
I could have run the Swans that season and got good results .
The next season he sh:t the bed with a very good team , inexpierence ran rampant .
I don't think Monk has a moment of coaching education although he had plenty of time off to persue it .
Monk had a silver spoon with us as a manager due to our chairmans strong dislike for the previous manager and Jenkins did everything possible to make Monk " A Success " .
Monk was a good player and captain for us .....but as a manager ........
Hope things work out for you guys but ......

They were probably pommy visitors, never seen so much water and decided to have a bath, for a change. Also washed their cars at the same time.

I have to be honest (am I ever anything else) we do get the odd shower now and then and, boy, we could do with some rain at the mement.

Yea, but we can handle it. We don't shed our shirts when the temperature gets above freezing and tie knotted handkerchiefs on our heads.
