I don't see anything wrong with his post. You, however, appear to be just jumping on the bandwagon -- as so many frequently do on here. Obviously it's IRW's turn in the barrel this week, to quote a naval phrase. Beware -- it could be your turn next.
Great credit needs to e given to Mike Phelan, his tactics were spot on. Nicer to see him also helping the player from the side line. Davies and Livermore were excellent at the back, Clucas and Meyler particularly were top class in midfield, with Clucas the stand out performer of the two. Diamande really showed he can step up to this level, and had a very good game. Snodders was also excellent, tried to do to much at time, but sometimes you need to have a go.
Very positive comments on Match of the Day by Lineker, Shearer & Wright about our performance. Top of the show as well.
Hmmm. Clucas was. Nobody put in a bad performance today at all, but I'm hoping we can upgrade Meyler asap, he's out of his depth at this level.
He made some mistakes, granted, but in our current situation, Meyler is the epitome of the type of player I would like in the team.
He's one of the few fit players, so naturally he will play. He gives everything and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's painfully obvious he's not Premier League quality and I'm hoping some of the signings coming in will push him to the bench.
Sterlings knowledge is pretty good for me, there are far worse on here. Meyler can be dozy at times and the first goal was down to him falling asleep after the kick-off saying that he has positive attributes in that he drives the team on and gets in the faces of the opposition also he is industrious
My assessment of Sterling's assessments is the best on Not606 (FACT) so here it is. He has this thing about players who've historically been lower league and unfashionable. Like there's some kind of innate, binary value that denotes whether a player is 'PL quality' or not and it can't ever change. Meyler and Bruce could be in the PFA team of the year but they'd still be not Premier league quality because that's what they're marked as on the static Sterling Player Database.
You have to use your eyes to judge players really but saying that I am from a time before databases and internet. Meyler does a job and he is only 25, Ashbee did a job too and I suppose he would have failed the Sterling Silver test
