Bit random I know - ''Christian Benteke is likely to move to Palace next week Palace will use the money they make from the Bolasie deal to bring Liverpool's Christian Benteke to the club in a record £32m deal.'' Not sure what's holding the bolasie deal up from palace to Everton. Maybe they want to tie up benteke deal so all announced at same time.
EFC 'pretending' they've got loads of dosh to spend but haggling down to the last penny [whistle smiley] [can't remember where smileys are lol]
True. Going over old ground here because I will have missed the discussions at the time but ..... baffling moves from EFC all round. Koeman odd choice, Williams - best days behind him, was expecting them to build for the future but all the signs so far shout quick fix - very strange from them.
I think Koeman is a good choice for them, odd choice for him personally though. Williams I guess is a solid option to get in after losing Stones. Their defence was shocking last year and Williams is kind of player to come in and show a bit of leadership and organisation.
You're right it is an odd move for him personally [££££] but also, no matter how good he is, Koeman's a journeyman and not a long term choice which is what Everton are usually about.
Could EFC's new owner be the same as the two cowboys we had, lots of promises, taking cash out of the club, and no real investment. Also lots of talk of a new ground, but no action?
I reckon it's a case of steadying the ship and laying the foundations before moving forward. Williams is a solid defender who will improve their defence. Mori and Jagielka either side in a bank three imo
Didnt play back 3 at saints so doubt it? Id inagine williams and one other with Baines / Coleman as full backs.
I agree about Williams and I like him as a player but there must have been better, cheaper options out there to do the job and with an eye on the future.
Coleman could be a good wing back. I think Baines is done. I wouldn't go with a back three, just think they've got the players for it.
1. Koeman played 352 at Southampton half way though season last year 2. Koeman knows the jig is up at Southampton and jumped ship. He had a huge tarsnefer year the year he joined and last year was a disaster. 3. Everton buying Williams imo is indeed poor. Wales boys love the gym but he is Morgan at best. Heading yes run anywhere no.
Thinking same thing. 0-1 loss might just sharpen their pencil. Its all a big game but our season depends on if we can spend that income in time or not so the more palace feel tbe pressure the better
