We have such a difficult away fixtures at the start of the season that we need to get some positive home results.
So very little movement. All the passes (other than the hopeful long ball forward) seem to be to a stationary player. Still plenty of time to sort it out
No early width. No one to cross to in the middle. No movement. Somehow completely overrun in midfield. And no shots taken from within 30 yards. Something ain't working.
I know it is a diamond, but it almost looks more like 4-6-0 to me, Tadic is too often the furthest forward player and the attacking players are too far apart. 3 at the back completely nullifies this system.
It's born out of the needs of the pressing; the strikers are needed to cover the fullbacks, so you pretty much need to stand on the ball after gaining possession while we get into attacking shape. We aren't going to be a quick counterattacking side, that's for sure. Better now.
