I was in York last weekend, we're home to Leeds this weekend and my tickets for Barnsley just turned up Hey atleast I understand them more than my local lot!! I can't believe it's only Tuesday and i'm nervous like it's a Saturday morning - going to be a long week! Who else feels the same way?!
absolutely buzzing for the weekend, seems like a lifetime since the season finished! st marys on saturday and the rose bowl on sunday
I'm gutted cos I'm moving home with my son this weekend - not only can't get down to SMS but won't even be able to watch live on TV Thank God for Sky+ so I can watch in th eevening!
There was a brilliant timeline of "Bresnan's thoughts" in the Telegraph sports pages, starting with "Yorkshire Day!".
Better tell all those poets that the Lake District's **** then. Edinburgh clearly a craphole aswell, and Leeds, Manchester, the Yorkshire Dales...
Lake District? Who needs that when we've got Hatchet Pond in the New Forest. Edinburgh full of scots and tourists. Leeds, don't get me started mate, really, don't. Manchester, so awful they have to pay footballers £200k a week to live there. Yorkshire Dales = scrubland.
It will be bliss wont it. Fingers crossed we don't lose either (well, especially not on Sunday). Certainly beats the rubbish we're putting up right now against the Yorkies!
Think you need to get your priorities right there Brendy. As much as I enjoyed the T20 Finals Day at the Rose Bowl last season I'm afraid that Saints beating Leeds is the only thing on my wishlist for this weekend. Hampshire winning/losing, after the season they're having this time round, won't even register I'm afraid
Saints' game is a bog-standard league game. Hampshire's is a knock-out cup game. And after the awful, awful season we're having, it's one small ray of light for us. Our whole season boils down to this one game. And any way, Cricket over Football any day of the week for me (albeit Hampshire and Southampton are both on a par for me, I can't put one ahead of the other).
Well good luck to the Hawks this weekend Where is the Finals Day this year? If Hampshire make it there and it's half as good a day out as it was last year then count me in...!!
Edgbaston - so not a massively long journey. Not that I'm looking that far ahead yet - I'm not too confident about beating Durham. Over 9,000 tickets have already been sold for Sunday, so should be a great atmosphere. Come on Tahir, Afridi and Briggs!!!!
It's going to be a spinner friendly pitch again, let's pray that the powers that be don't penalise us again for preparing a poor pitch, although the way this season has gone, that is a possibility!....COYR(eds) AND COYR(oyals) !!
You mean preparing a pitch which lead to a close, exciting, end-to-end match. As opposed to a complete road like we've prepared this week.
