I agree with a lot of that.

If we manage to get a quality CB and CF in though I'd be feeling like we are right up there with the others, but even then I think it could be really open this season and it's going to be very unpredictable. So many new factors involved that we could see some amazing football from the top teams or some spectacular failures.

We've finished 4th, then 3rd, then 2nd though so surely that means this time we win? <whistle>

Who do you think is most likely to miss out on CL football? Most, if not all of the managers of those six clubs have a certain level of expectation on getting CL football and all are in my opinion actually very good managers, but will any lose there job if they don't at a minimum get that fourth place spot?

If you buy a proven CF and CB then that would be a real statement of intent. I'd have you as one of the title favourites and you'd finally be putting your balls on the line. No disrespect but Wenger really is a stubborn **** sometimes. Even IF he wins it now without buying anyone he wouldn't have proved a thing. His whole philosophy (while perhaps a noble one) has been undermined more and more over the last 10 years.

Btw there is one caveat about Arsenal as opposed to last season... SANTI CAZORLA!

In terms of who will miss out of top 4, it'll be Spurs imo. Then it'll be a case of 4 out of the 5 that are left. I would include Liverpool in that tbh. Very very hard to say who will miss out.

It'll be even tighter next season when we only have 3 sides in the CL.

I'm serious, ownership that has never been frightened to spend (even at Birmingham), a new 60,000 ground (that they had to contribute 2/3rds of **** all, to get) providing a decent income stream on top of the premiership money, a decent manager and a team that just needs to add a little consistency.

Never happen. They were a country mile behind us last season. They would have been even further behind if we hadn't imploded at the very end. They will be behind us again...

In all seriousness here is my top 6

1 - Man City
2 - Liverpool
3 - Chelsea
4 - Man Utd
5 - Spurs
6 - Arsenal

14 - Leicester City.

I think Klopp is creating a buzz at Liverpool amongst the fans which will carry through to the players. He doesn't take **** from his players but also seems to put faith in them as long as they buy into his style and expectations. I think even if some players aren't getting the game time they want, as long as he keeps up the feel of creating a team that could achieve something and the work ethic and hard work he pushes for in the players, in general people will feel included and not cause a fuss. I think they will work hard to try and be involved rather than create ill feeling.

Despite the mixed bag of results he has produced so far I think he will do well for Liverpool. It could be this season but I think it might be slightly early and he won't quite have the team he wants yet, as long as the club and fans keep there patience I think Liverpool could be much closer to competing than they have been generally in recent years.

I do think Liverpool miss a bit of top quality to turn games that aren't going your way though, particularly when Sturridge is injured (aka most of the time). If you can find a Suarez, someone on the edge of top level football who needs a chance, or manage to push through a surprise big transfer I think Liverpool would be a real force.

(Edit: though that said there are still probably a few too many filler players in your squad who aren't quite good enough)

Good post and I agree with most of it.

Klopp works on team graft and team spirit, we have more funds than he had a Dortmund so he is able to spend more here than he did there, he bought players there that are now household names in world football.

I expect players like Mane (who BTW is a perfect Klopp player) to excel with him there. I think it's too early for us to win the PL, but I expect us to do well, and after a couple more windows we should have an excellent squad that Klopp can develop into Champions.

He always said he'd need a few seasons to turn a squad like he was given around, all fans that I know are more than happy to give him that time. He's bought such a buzz to the players and everyone connected to the club, it's rejuvenated a rather ****e last few years.

Happy days.
