I've always found it odd that Swimming (pool) has 34 gold medals and yet track cycling only has 10, Rowing 14. Also that swimming and others allow multiple competitors from the same country, yet others don't. Its no wonder USA and China finish top of the pile every Olympics, 11 of 16 US golds have come in the pool (24 of the total 38 medals) and China are set to take almost every Table tennis medal.
Only 4 golds, but since China can enter more than one player in each event they potentially could win12 medals (they can't this time round though) GB can only win 10 medals in total in the track cycling as only one rider or team per event. Also Table tennis isn't the only event China will dominate in, Badminton is another with multiple per country. The swimming one is the most annoying though, No doubt Phelps is one of the all time greats but he just has more chances to win than all the non-swimmers and in turn USA has more chances to win with just a few swimmers.
