Tennis , apologies if it's been mentioned , isn't it strange how some of the world's best players get knocked out when there's no prize money ?
It was shown on Channel 4 in the mid-nineties early Saturday morning. I was always up then with Child 2 who viewed sleep as an unnecessary distraction from practising the art of screaming. I found watching it strangely hypnotic and relaxing. Child 2 didn't. She just carried on screaming regardless.
No wonder she screamed Ern. You was denying her watching Rosie n Jim, Postman Pat and Teletubbies. What you have done if you was denied Hong Kong Fuey, The Hair Bear Bunch and Tiswas in the 70s in place of Pro Kabaddi. Shame on you.
GOLD MEDAL ALERT Helen Glover and Heather Stanning have taken gold in the Women's Pair Rowing. Well done ladies. Absolutely ****ing smashed it. Unbeaten since 2011.
Shocking 'crowds' for today's athletics. I don't really watch the track and field as half of them are taking drugs but didn't all the athletics sessions in London 2012 have a full stadium?
I went to the athletics a couple of times, the stadium was completely full for the entire day, every day. As has been mentioned earlier in the thread, the lack of full stadia is not really a surprise considering the disparity in Rio and Brazil in general.
GOLD MEDAL ALERT The men's Coxless Four have just won the gold medal. 5 Olympics in a row we've won this event now. Well done lads. ****ing good at rowing, aren't we?
Britain was carried out by Channel 4, who commissioned a programme dedicated to the sport. The programme, Kabaddi in the early 1990s, however, failed to capture viewer attention despite fixtures such as West Bengal Police versus the Punjab. was that an exciting fixture ernie
The best game I can remember was Chennai Shipbuilders verses the Amritsar Bridge Construction XII. It was riveting.
It's all down to money...... We saw a number of protests about the games while we were there........they have cost many millions & yet much of the population live in abject poverty....this is one Olympics where visitor numbers & tourist income will not exceed the costs of putting the games on......you can see why there are protests.....for some in Rio even the cheapest tickets @ £19 are more than some earn in a week.....and with the more expensive general tickets costing £220+ even for the early rounds ..... we ended up spending almost £2000 on tickets while we were there for just under a week
OK, Dressage. In what way is gay horse dancing an actual sport? At least the bint representing GB had the class to compete in fancy dress with a pirate's eyepatch. And a cutlass.
