Not sure to we see how good Puel is, based on last seasons results Koeman staying edges it for me. Saying that i think Tadic is going to be a massive player for us this season, i just hope he realises that.
Watching the quick feet of Mr Tadic as he spins defenders every which way is one of life's pleasures. Fantastic news indeed
Great news as it does show a confidence within the team and a desire to stay. I know nothing is set in stone these days, but you can sense a more settled feel to the place. And I must congratulate FLT on being the first to post....he must have been like a greyhound in the slips. I had just gone out and presumably Helen was making a cup of tea and DTLW was occupied with some minor London club. Still, well done lad.
Really like Tadic when he's playing well, not sure I'd like him if I ever actually met him though What to make of the BBC quotes though? Language may be a factor but I'm not really sure I get the meaning of: "The club showed a lot of effort to keep me," he said. "There were also other possibilities. "But, we recognised that the best is that I stay in Southampton, and I want to mention they put in a lot of effort for that, and I appreciate that."
Think he means that what really swung it for him was how keen Saints were to keep him. In other words, Saints see him as central to their plans and he won't be side lined.
Well that's good news then Really hope we get to see the best side of him from now, he can be an amazing player. Still remember first seeing him after Lallana left. Great stuff.
The best part of Tadic extension is the confidence he has shown in the new management team too. He has had time to work with them before making a decision and his confidence fills me with confidence too.
I'm looking forward to seeing how he copes, against hard working, well organised Premier League teams, in the central position. I can envisage him winning plenty of free kicks, in goal scoring positions, so hopefully JWP can take his free kick taking to the same levels as SRL.
I wouldn't say he was just yet. He certainly has the potential though. Hopefully this will be the breakthrough season for Dusan, time to make good on the promise he's shown so far. There have been occasions when he's taken on defenders, that he's reminded me of George Best.
Here you go: Tadic Prem stats: Played: 65 Scored: 12 Assists: 21 Lallana Prem stats: Played: 125 Scored: 21 Assists: 23 So Tadic is 9 goals behind and two assists. Having played 60 games less.
They are more likely to give Jose a wage adjustment to match or exceed others with new contracts....probably won't extend the length of the contract (due to his age), so I am not expecting a formal announcement.
Meh. Not really sure why he deserves an extension, but we seem to be handing them out like candy these days.
