on ssn now on our website

Sunderland AFC have completed the signing of Adnan Januzaj on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old Belgium international becomes David Moyes’ third signing as Sunderland boss.

Born in Brussels, Januzaj began his youth career with Anderlecht before moving to United, where he has since gone on to make 50 appearances for the first team, garnering both Premier League and UEFA Champions League experience.

The winger spent part of last season on loan with German giants Borussia Dortmund, gaining further experience in European competition.

Januzaj is no stranger to the Stadium of Light, having scored a brace to give his former club a 2-1 win over the Black Cats back in 2013 on one of his first senior appearances.

Sunderland’s latest addition is available to make his debut against Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League season on Saturday.

Been coming for a while... not sure how to feel. Decent player no doubt but I'm not sure where he fits in. Doesn't suit the number 10 role and he's slow for a winger. Also we have plenty of cover for those positions. Not sure I'd want borini /lens / khazri / watmore losing gametime to accomodate a loanee we have very little chance of keeping long-term, realistically.

Chuffed with that, hope that there is an option to buy. I can't see him ever getting a game at United under Mourinho!

    More than happy with this
I know he will never be our player but I makes the signings
Of McNair and love even better
Gives moyes a little breathing space
Now with Kone going we should be able to bring in a striker.
Can't see any other in comings
Unless we sell others for decent money

I hope there is a buy clause or its a silly deal. We pay to develop their player. Then pay a fortune for him because of the hard work we have done.

Or worse they sell him to someone else

I'd put Januzaj, behind Borini and Khazri in the pecking order, but in front of Lens and Watmore.

same. I'd probably move Borini inside, but all 3 should be able to be comfortable in each position: right, left or centre.

If there's no option to buy then I'm sorry but I'm not excited about this. Hopefully he'll be on sparkling form.

I think lens will go now, such high hopes when he signed but he has been poor.

Delighted with januzaj, 30 points on the scrabble board. Then the new centre half. Khazri. Shame we playing football

Hope this doesn't turn out like Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck, with good performances from the players just leading Man U to take them back.

If we have a buy-out clause, all well and good. Even if we don't he only has a season left on his contract after this one, so we might get a decent deal done.

Definitely a top signing if Moyes can get him back to the form he was in a few years back, though.

Loan deals between us and Utd have ultimately benefitted both parties.

Welbeck, Evans to name two! Both excellent for us and helped us finish in higher league positions.
Very unlikely Utd would allow a buy clause in his contract after the Pogba debacle. If he does well for us then returns. I'll say "thanks adnan" and that'll be it. No problems at all

He's in that league of talent although a different type of player. I bet they'll be very careful not to let that happen again, lot of money that cost them.

I hope he brings his A game and doesn't sulk about the place when he's not installed in the first team as the new king of SAFC.
