Another 'next Pele'... Think he turned pro at a ridiculously young age (even tho he looked 54!) and completely burned himself out. The media circus around him didn't help like. Shame for the lad. Back to Asoro.... Like an earlier post suggests, Moyes has 'form' for bringing on young kids. Let's hope this lad is nurtured into something special. Training and learning from Defoe is going to be an amazing experience for the lad. Priceless infact
Bridges was a fantastic prospect the best I remember since Toddo imo. at his best he looked world class, attitude (Mag), poor management (Riedy) and injuries sadly plagued his career. I would go as far as saying he was the most natural goalscorer to come from from this area since Sir Bobby Charlton.
I think we could have a few young guns who'll make it if Moyes gives them a chance - McNair & Love may lessen their chances though - we'll see soon - onwards Ps -spellcheck typo's
Might make the bench for City with a You old enough to remember Keiren Brady H&A, now there was a talented lad.
We were talking about Bridges earlier he was smashing them in for Leeds, never ever recovered from that first bad injury. He'd have been a major star, he was very very good, and still improving. Shame.
Around the same time Martin Smith was a quality player too. Not sure he lived the modern athletes lifestyle and made the most of his talent but exciting to watch at a time of quite a few plodders as I recall!
I know Martin Smith, or used to not seen him in years, and he did lack the commitment to make it all the way. Smashing ability but his moves after us showed it, rattled them in lower league for years.
That right mate? Loved him but when I was a bit older thought he didn't quite do what he might have done so interesting to hear that. Came across as a canny lad too. Was he pals with Craig Russell, they always seem to link up well?
Dunno mate they came through youth teams similar time, few years older than me. He nearly came back 3 or 4 times like shame it never happened.
Sure Huddersfield paid strong money for him from Sheffield U, banged a few in for both clubs….The Son of Pele
