If no-one bought shirts we'd have even less money to spend than we do now. When you were little didn't you feel the dogs bollox when you had your new shirt on?? I know I did !!
Oh I wore them at school age, that's a different thing. Actually the club doesn't make fortunes off shirt sales, it's the kit deal itself. Adidas pay for exposure and advertising in the Premier League, not so much in Sunderland AFC. They take the majority of the sales revenue, I'm sure I read somewhere they take first £34, this was reading up on the United deal. That leaves very little once store overheads are taken into account.
Although I never wear one myself I still like to see lots of red'n'white shirts round the ground. Can still remember reporters describing the '92 semi vs Norwich as a game between 2 of the most colourful fans in the country. I travelled from Den Helder for the game... Yes, in my red'n'white shirt
Other people can get themselves away mate, I'm not offended by them. Generally after the game I wanna be out anyway so I'm usually in a polo ready to go.
I often end up going straight into town when I get back. Polo for me too, unless it's winter and cold in which case it be in a tie shirt jumper and jacket
I buy an away strip every other year or so to wear in bed/around the house. Not sure I could wear one out the house.
