Bookies always lose money on us and pundits, pundits are like weathermen , they take a guess at weather and go home and look out the window . A pundit might know something about his own personal team , and that's not a gimme , but pundits are payed to guess without reprecusions ...most of them don't do much digging .. You put all the nails you want in the coffin dai , there is usually a body in there though .
I'm slightly worried this season. It's too early for me to see if we have improved, but easy for me to see how we are even weaker than last season. Hope we get off to a good start and confidence will build both for the team and me..
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...to-sign-a-centre-back-says-francesco-guidolin Guido saying only another CB will come in. If the Ryan Shawcross rumour is true, our defence will be stronger than what it was before Ash went.
Goalkeepers - no change. In defence, we are arguably weaker without Ash. That said, Fernandez & Amat linked up well at the end of last season. In midfield, I see no difference. On the wing, we are arguably stronger with Dyer's return & Barrow improving year on year. Ayew to me wasn't a winger, and actually spoilt our rhythm. Up front, we will definitely miss Ayew (as a goal scoring striker) - but for me (on paper) Llorente & Baston are upgrades on Gomis, Eder & Paloschi. Overall, I think we will have a more balanced style and a squad at least the equal of last season. Hopefully, that will be enough to guarantee PL status for (at least) a further season. Just my opinion
We were going to be stronger than we were last season before players left or came in . The" Confusion " left with Monk and the same players had a brilliant finish .Same players , different strength teams the same season . That was a very interesting and telling interview from Guidolin , he is one confident man these days .
Bookies always get it wrong, they lay bets off to ensure when they get it wrong they come away winners. The odds they offer is not what they think but what is laid on by punters, the more money put on a team the shorter the odds, if people started putting money on us to go down the odds will shorten, if people put money on staying up then the odds for relegation will lengthen. The fact is the odds are about the same for going down as landing up in the top ten. As for the pundits, they are no different to any layman out there, they without fail will always have the big 4 teams to win the league, and most will have the newly promoted sides to go down. And that happens every year.
I'd be happy with Shawcross always hated him when we played Stoke The bookies and pundits always have us to struggle dai you should know that.
