What about the 1000000 balls that have been kicked in the previous few seasons when we've been wanted him gone? Wenger going has nothing to do with anything that might happen this season. He's needed to have gone a good long while ago. And his past successes have nothing to do with that.

'Teflon' Woodward always seems to duck just in time when the **** hits the fan. He was responsible for promoting Van Driver, but seems to have ducked out of the blame for that farce too.

So, if Pogba turns out to be an £89mill overpriced **** up, which is very possible from what I saw at the WC, Maureen will carry the can for it...

Wenger is a good manager and when he leave Arsenal, the fans will soon realise how good he was, see UTD with Moyes and LVG

The club and Ferguson were at least as much to blame for that as Moyes

Arsenal have everything they need to be winning titles mate.
They are sitting on a winning lottery ticket, and are too chicken **** to cash it.
The board are quite happy to mire in mediocrity, whilst cashing their cheques every season.
Moyes would have done well if given more time imo.
LvG could have had 10 seasons and he wouldn't have won ****. His football was pedestrian and stale.

Your comment was childish. It's my opinion that Pogba is not worth £89m because he still has a lot to prove. He's talented, but he is not on the same level as Bale or Ronaldo who are in that price bracket. In a 'normal' market he would be worth £30m. It is an indication of how clubs can totally mug off buyers without reflecting the real value of the players that they are selling.

This whole thing is pointless though because you don't set the worth of a player and therefore can't comment on someone being sold for more or less than they're worth. A player is worth what a club is willing to pay for him. No more, no less. You snidely commenting that United have been mugged off means nothing. Financially the deal means very little to them. So how can you look down on them for spending money that means very little to them on a player that will probably make them better? What downside is there to United in this deal? Anything apart from fans saying they've been mugged off?

How much would Bale or Ronaldo be worth now if both were 23 and as the same level of skill as they are now?

Ronaldo £130m+ Bale £110m so Pog is valued right*

    * I think way to much myself

You can't use that as a yardstick, come back in 6 months then form, contribution & performance taken into account you will be able to use this as a fact and not something that you just dreamed up.

Even putting it conservatively, Pogba is massively overvalued. Whatever terms you use to describe it, they have paid well over the odds for a player who is yet to prove he is the finished article.

And yet they have a **** ton of cash, will recoup all of it in Marketing and shirt sales anyway and he will improve their team.
So there really is no downside to it for United at all. Except, as Cini said, they will have to endure ****e from green eyed rivals claiming they were "mugged off."
I am sure they will be able to manage.
Just because your manager likes to shop in the bargain bin, doesn't mean every manager should.

Regardless, the point I initially made is that Pogba is not worth £89m. Just because somebody has more money, it doesn't mean that the assets they buy are worth what they are charged. It just means they get charged more because they have more money. It's like the rich American tourists getting ripped off in the West End.

Lets face it....none of these players are worth the money that clubs pay for them.
    Football is ridiculous these days.
But it is supply and demand, the more money a club has, the more a selling club will expect from them.
Happened to us when Roman first came aboard, every player we approached had their value doubled.

The market has gone crazy I agree. I blame Abramovich for starting it all off. But this year the TV money and huge sponsorship deals have added to the transfer fees. It does make you wonder where it will all end up. As much as it frustrates the hell out of me to see Arsenal miss out on transfer targets, I'm glad we don't get sucked into paying well over the odds for players.

They let him go for 10 bob a few years ago, so they already look monumentally ****ing stupid. If they finish 5th again this season they are going to be a very short price to win Mugs of The Century. So no downside.

    Highly unlikely.
They have a manager who knows what the **** he is doing......and have just signed two of the best players in the world.
For me they are title favourites, but definitely dead certs for top 3.

And like I said, I am sure they will learn to cope with your disdain.

They have a manager who spectacularly lost the dressing room at his last club, & have just spent the GDP of a small country on a player who used to be one of the best in the world, and one who may become one of the best in the world.

This does not look to me like the smooth machinations of a well run organisation. It looks a bit like desperation. But we'll see.
