If we don't sign a left back we should be concerned about our place in the top four. We can safely assume these things: 1) Man City and Man United will be in the top four. Chelsea could flop under Villas Boas. 2) Gibbs will get an injury during the season 3) Verminator will also Now, imagine us in December with Traore playing Left Back next to Koscienly, Djourou and Sagna, and you can see why WENGER NEEDS TO SIGN SOME ****ING DEFENDERS.
Left Backs don't win titles. I agree with your overall point though, but I thought you were in for Jagielka.
Honoured your signature still has me on it! I would agree you need to buy. I think Arsenal's situation is becoming a bit of a joke. My usual cocky Arsenal mates are just bemused and frustrated currently. Wenger just doesn't seem to get it. If you guys finish out of the top 4 he has to go.
Liverpool have a had a worse pre-season than us. I guess I'm being optimistic about a top four spot though...
Yes I suppose so but certainly Utd's record tells of a different outcome. On the other hand Arsenal can get the job done but you need to have a full strength team and last year as everyone knows, Arsene didn't cover all the bases. If Arsenal plugs those gaps in it's style of play which were so obvious in the previous season, then it has every chance of making it all the way to the top in May. If is a very big word though and Arsene and Gazidis take too many risks with this team.
I really hope Gibbs proves me wrong but I don't think he is good or healthy enough to be our number 1 LB.
I just cant see Man U, Citeh and Chelsea dropping out the top 4 with the calibre of players they have. Manure especially will be really up for its after Citeh have upped there claim for the title and with Chelsea's new manager being the hottest new property around, can only inspire the old dogs to glory. Liverpool is also getting much stronger with one of the best strike partnerships in the prem. Then it leaves Arsenal, who had a demoralising end to there season and have got a weaker squad wise overall.
@lazarus2000 To be fair we have finished in the top 4 for the last 14 years running and along with Utd are the only two teams not to have dropped out of the CL for atleast one season. AW has never not qualified for the CL. And had we not had our end of season collapse (even if we just drew a load of games) we would have been very comfortably ahead of spurs and pool. I can't see any other team than City, Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal in the top 4 in no particular order this season. Remember we were well and truely in the title race until very near the end of the season. We have signed Gervinho and provided we get another player or two in we will have strengthened the squad and be ready for another season. Some fans go a bit OTT about our situation i think
Well i hope your right but ill be suprised if that momumental collapse that we suffered last year won't affect us mentally this year.....
That's just it my friend - whether we get another player or two. Guess we'll have to wait till the transfer window closes before being able to assess that. While we're waiting for that I'm going to try not to read too much in the press
