Im with Stan here. The fact that the guests have had to fork out a lot of money to get there, doesnt turn a tackfest into a high society wedding.
I was in Thailand 3 years ago. Hired a car and drove up into the country. Absolutely loved it. Remember the country scenes as you drive. Stopped off at Sukhothai (old capital?) but my favourite stop was at Chiang Mai, loved it there, brilliant views when you go up to the villages (in the clouds) that used to grow opium poppies, the temples and then back into town for the night markets. Really wished I'd gone up further to Chiang Rai but was on a tight schedule as we were heading down to Ao Nang. Never liked Bangkok tbh.
Me too BKK is the devils playground, certainly better things to do and see. Popping up to Chiang Mai soon to see a friend so will defo be looking at the beautiful country.
Last time I was in Vegas, I booked a suite at the Bellagio and it was just over £300 a night, not cheap but far from a fortune for that quality of accommodation. Vegas only gets expensive when you hit the tables...which is why accommodation is so reasonably priced.
I know a chap who retired and has been building a house up there. Says it's beautiful. I take it you've been?
Jesus, now you are making yet another point. I haven't seen anyone suggest it will be a high society wedding. You are with Stan on a point he didn't make and which wasn't mentioned in HIAGs post. That's simple then.
The whole thing boils down to money. Who has paid for the whole thing, all 23 of them? Minus the bride and groom who has stumped up the 84k? The guests i presume. The whole thread is nothing more than a Look at me, by hiag.
Look at me, I've gone to one of the cheapest tourist destinations at the cheapest time of the year. Impressive.
Actually, a friend of mine's son married an American girl out there. The actual wedding was some weird Indian ceremony held in a canyon some way outside of Vegas. My friend had to stay in Vegas, however, as there ain't exactly a big choice of other places to stay around that part of the desert!....
I would never do that. It's just gone 6am, here. I think it's time to put on the Elvis suit and the comedy breasts.
