"The village is about 1 mile (1.6 km) long and contains, two churches, two pubs, a primary school and village shop cum post office."

Sounds intense ;) But what's up with the "shop cum post office"? I guess it means something else than what I think?

To be fair, I just typed in "typical Swede fashion" and up he cropped(sic). So it's either a comment on the Swede's apparent lack of style or they've mixed up swedes and cabbages.

I went for dinner at Tickton Grange not long ago, it's posher than it used to be, the food was served on slate and there were sorbet's between courses.

PS - They don't do chicken nuggets, I checked. <ok>

How long you going back, OLM? I did work there for a spell before i moved away. But haven't been back since so wouldn't know if there were any changes, other than in personnel. Were you in a wedding group, a dinner party or just dinning in the restaurant?

I was just in the restaurant with the missus, someone told us it had been done up, so we went to check it out. I can't really remember how long ago it was, maybe six months, or so.

All of thse tiny villages creep me out a bit. I don't get why anyone would want to live somewhere so deserted or small, and with so few other people.

It does my head in most when they beat you at football. Where the **** did they find 11 teenagers decent at football when their population is only half of that?!

Agree with you there. In my age bracket, teams like Hutton Cranswick and Westella & Willerby used to be class.

Also Hessle (Rangers and Sporting), Heddon Barca, Howden and North Cave used to be a bit lively and there would be a bit of bad blood. More so than St Andrews Police Boys, Oceana Tigers and the like.
