Simples - we win 3-0 Goals from Gyan, Defoe and Bellamy (with Adam Johnson having 2 assists!!) John Terry (who will be with us on loan ater he falls out with the new bloke at Chelski) will be injured and Messi will miss a sitter (for them). Job jobbed!
I haven't got a ****ing scooby. I think we'll finish higher in the league, but the wounds from last season are still wide open so i won't go into this derby with confidence, even if in my opinion we are the superior team playing at home. It's the old favourite 1-1 in my head, although it would be wonderful to doll out a pasting to give back some of what we've had the last 9 months, i can't see it. Strange that the 5-1 trauma has taken almost the exact length of a pregnancy for us to get a shot at redemption, maybe i can read summat into that, rebirth etc... Straw clutching much?
Na mate, we had to get out of that season, we were never gonna win by 4 in January, so we were losing on aggregate either way, realistically.
Newcastle minus Nolan and Barton, them French players better know what a derby this is. Luckily Seb larsson, Gardner, Vaughn and a few others have played in the premier league so they what to do.
I don't know how people can says its impossible to predict. A prediction by its very nature is merely a forecast. Wheres the fun if people are sitting on the fence. I reckon a boring 0-0, plenty of bookings all round but an overall cagey affair with neither team wanting to risk losing.
I'm not buying into the 'Newcastle in Crisis' situation that people seem to be panicking about, but I do think this derby game will come too soon for the 'new look' Newcastle (minus Enrique and Barton no doubt). Especially with it being at SOL. So I reckon Sunderland will edge this one 2-0...
I'm certain that Shola will score and one team will win. Or it will be a draw. My prediction: 2-2 Shola and Saylor for us Gyan and Sess for Sunderland. I swear to God though, if Gyan does that stupid bloody dance thing again....
I think people have learned a lot since last season.. for you guys the 5-1, for us the last day of the season with the final positions. i think we might come out on top though
Wouldn't like to predict on a single game. I reckon over both derbies we'll be even, 1 win each or 2 draws. I also am pretty certain Sunderland will finish higher than us in the league. Our best chance is that all the new mackem signings (who were playing in england, unlike our new signings) saw up close what happened last year and turn up like rabbits in headlights in front of the home support.
I predicted that we would do the double last year and baring the 2 games and 4 goals difference I was spot on. Lol Fair enough, I got my bait put up good and proper last season but as with all such things, its a whole new season now and I see nothing to suggest anything other than a double for the red & whites is on the cards for me again. We are stronger and they are considerably weaker having lost the core of their team spirit and heart in Nolan, Barton and Enrique. 2-0 at Sid James and if we hit the ground running, 3-0 at our place in a couple of weeks. If we get AJ in before then though, maybe by more. I cant see Perch, Williamson, Bye Bye Steven Taylor or Hair Bear stopping Gyan, Sess, AJ, Larsson & Gardener as an attacking unit. You heard it here first. One absolutely sure fire thing is we wont be as bloody abject again at Sid James and I expect us to take the game to the opposition at home games much more this season and not just in derby games.
It depends. - It depends on whether Barton is still there - It depends on whether we sign another striker - It depends on whether Ben Arfa is back - It depends on whether Enrique goes and whether we sign a new LB of good quality - It depends on whether the mackems sign anyone else Personally, I don't think Sunderland have any improved quality over last season so far. Maybe slightly. They have a lot more players in depth, some of them good, but none of them are really an 'upgrade' over last seasons players. We, on the other hand, have made upgrades (IF they can step up), so if all goes to plan, we can put out a starting 11 much stronger than last season.
