Last I heard we missed the boat and the player said he would rather have a full year in the French League - he's been out on loan most of his time with Montpellier.
Alejandro Faurlin has joined Getafe please log in to view this image Source: http://getafecf.com/Noticia/tabid/137/Article/3574/Faurlin-jugador-del-Getafe.aspx Kind of ironic that, since Getafe was the club our boy Jozabed was going to join before deciding to come to the Cottage. An ill wind and all that.
We're being linked to Watford's full back Juan Paredes please log in to view this image Source: http://bolavip.com/189118/juan-carl...ord?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter The 29yr old Ecuador international hasn't featured at all in Watford's pre-season. He's still got 3 left on his contract though and that may affect the price. Ostensibly a RB, he's presumably much need cover since Ryan Fredericks is out for something like 8-10 weeks; Odoi being able to play right or left.
Spoke to a Watford supporting mate about this guy. He reckons he's rubbish. Let's hope it falls through.
Slavi later today: "I don't want to bring in more young players at the moment, I am looking for senior players," he said. "I need strikers and we are looking at the market. I need a bigger senior squad and I hope to sign someone very, very soon. "The young players showed me quality and character and I'll use them in the future, although it depends on them, although they can be important for the future but they need time." At the risk of stating the obvious but with the window closing on 31st August, there's not a lot of time left. Especially if foreign based players are involved; taking account of the added admin time needed. Loans also have to be completed by the deadline.
I would not mind us getting Bamford on loan, not as our main striker but he could be a useful addition to our squad
It was looking like Hull had a deal going for this guy but there's been a hiccough - the 'Tiger's' owners are having second thoughts. Could we step in and save the day???
With all these strikers being looked at where does that leave Woodrow ? Last season he couldn't get a place because he was the natural replacement for McCormack (Who played most games), he doesn't seem to be Jokanovic's favourite. I guess it is the old saying as long whoever you bring in is better than what you've got. The club seem to be looking at non-proven strikers, I am looking for senior players," he said. "I need strikers and we are looking at the market' rings a bit hollow at the moment with who we are reported to be after.
A strange story is linking us with taking Brazilian Wallyson Mallmann on loan. "One year ago, Sporting signed Bryan Ruiz from Fulham for €1m. This amount was never paid completely, so the clubs are now in talks to reach a friendly deal about the debt; instead of paying what’s left, the newspaper reports that Sporting offered Fulham one of their youngsters on loan. The strongest name for now is Wallyson Mallmann. The 22-year-old isn’t considered to be ready for the Sporting first team, and after having a loan spell at Nice, he could end up landing in London soon. The Brazilian made 20 appearances for the French side last season, having played both as a central midfielder as a number ten. Fulham are now considering the possibility of signing him, as they reportedly like the idea of having a player on loan instead of receiving the missing amount. Wallyson played for City’s U-18 and U-21 before signing permanently for Sporting in 2014 for €500k." Source: http://sportwitness.co.uk/fulham-set-sign-former-manchester-city-youngster-loan/?
Surely we are all set for midfielders now, if the are short of the cash they owe us they must have a decent striker we could have for a season! Although if we did sign him I would be tempted to get his full name on my shirt!
Agree Cookie - about not needing another (young) midfielder not about the shirt. Wouldn't mind their striker Islam Slimani, 47 goals in 59 outings. Mind, Everton had a £20m bid turned down last week so perhaps that would be a bit too "ambitious".
Lol That made me laugh Cottager about the shirt but also your ambition to sign Slimani, he is quality and has been for a few years now, he will end up somewhere big, my West Ham is hoping they get him I'm a little dubious they are big enough for him.
I see that Phillipe Senderos is training with Glasgow Rangers with a view to signing for them. Maybe we should nip in with a cheeky bid to bring him back to the Cottage. [Backs slowly away in anticipation of indignant responses].
When I was first told about it this morning I was hoping it was a load of rubbish, but it was soon confirmed by rangers that he was in fact training with us for the week. He may find it a bit easier up here but hes just one of those defenders you know has a mistake in him, no confidence in him at all.
