Matt Smith was interviewed by Ch5 today at the EFL launch at the Cottage. As you'd expect he was non-commital but can something be read into that wry smile?

For 12m i could not care less where he goes ,as long as Khan allows it to be re invested in the squad

More rumblings, this on Sky Sports News this morning

    07:20
    McCORMACK BID ACCEPTED

Sky sources understand that Aston Villa's £12m bid for Ross McCormack has been accepted by Fulham. He's now expected to have a medical today.

Norwich had previously had a £10m bid rejected for McCormack, who scored 21 goals in the Championship last season.

Rumour is £14 million ..... I'm hoping the Mounie deal is still alive and we are just waiting for McCormack to leave before confirming it.

Glad it's sorted before the season starts and we can now move forward without distraction. Well, other than waiting to see who now comes in.

Obviously grateful for McCormack's goals over the last two seasons, but he won't in the future be listed among that oft misused term a Fulham Legend. Not in my book anyway.

Final word on the saga (probably not), wonder if Villa realise that it will be his consistent 6-8 games before being match fit?

I wish him well, if it wasn't for his goals last season ,we most likely would be in a lower division by now.
And we got our money back + some , so lets move on
    "onward and upward"

I'd echo what others have said about wishing him well, but has he actually gone yet? The statement on the club website only says we've agreed terms with Villa, not that the deal is signed, sealed and finalised.

    Sakari Matilla has gone ....

"The Club can confirm that Sakari Mattila’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent. The Finland international joined Fulham last summer and went on to make nine appearances during 2015/16.

We’d like to thank Sakari for all his efforts during his time with us, and wish him the best of luck throughout the rest of his career
    ."

Next up Nikolay Bodurov, and free up more wages.

Matilla was one of many weird signings in the last couple of years, up there with the likes of Fotheringham, Chihi etc. You'd have to say that himself and Bodurov were the only bits of deadwood left at the club, the rest have some part to play. One down one to go!

    That didn't take long ...

"The Club can confirm that after his Testimonial Match next weekend Jozabed Sanchez will be released by mutual consent. We wish him the very best wishes.

Tickets for Jozabed's testimonial at Motspur Park will be released shortly"

I'm confused. Have we just released someone we've only just signed?

Ah sorry guys, it's a spoof.

Well, really an attempt at sarcasm (humour is too strong) on how long it's taking to announce him and it obviously backfired. Thought the clue might be in suggesting he was having a "testimonial".

According to several of to days sports papers Spurs are reported to be offering in excess of 3m for Seggers
a staggering figure for a 16 yr old , but surely with the amount of money still floating about from previous
deals we could hang on to him for a few more years, then what 20 30 m +
" Ah but that devious Rigg is still hovering about within the club"

I know we've said this about other players, but surely Ryan will see that at age 16 he's not going to get first-team game time at Spurs. Chances are that he'll play a decent number of games with us. Staying put would be much better for his career right now. Let's just hope that the people advising him see it that way, rather than thinking about the money or the glamour of a big club.

I'm hopeful he has good advisors, we all know he will go on to bigger and better things but moving now would be crazy, he will get first team games here over the next few seasons, he has been here since 8 years old, his twin brother is here.
I ve said it before but look players who got 100 first team games under there belt before moving onto the prem, Clyne, Betrand, Alli, lallana, Ox, Creswell all have gone on to have good Careers, I can name more but I can also name loads of young players who moved far to early and got lost in the big clubs system.... Ryan don't do a John Bostock!!!!
