Any of you lot suffer from it?
Now I've had it for years, tried all those ****e herbal remedies which are all ****ing useless.
Only thing that get's me over is alcohol which I have cut back drastically on.
Basically, I've hardly slept since Saturday night.
Last night I was falling asleep at my laptop around 20.30.
Went to bed at 21.00 & slept fine until 02.30 when I got up to go for a piss.
Could I **** get back to sleep.

Sitting here now, fresh as a ****ing daisy.
Feel better for cutting back on the drink.
    Just wish I could sleep.
    Any tips lads?

I've got ****ty sleeping habits. I struggle to get to sleep. It takes hours but then when I do get to sleep I'll be out for about 10 hours.

Makes it ****ing hard to get to work at a reasonable time. So I just don't bother.

    Cigs often keep people awake.

I looked at the tread title and was going to say I heard we were not giving him a contract <laugh>

I can get to sleep nee bother but like you wake up in the middle of the night (about 4) for a pee and thats usually it. If I go to bed early cause I am goosed it just means I wake up earlier so I cannot win. I try to stay up till 12.00ish on a workday and not drink anything after 9 and sometimes I can make it to 6 - 7am but am busting when i do wake:emoticon-0148-yes:

Try reading the Borini thread from two years ago.

Be careful though you could end up in a coma.

do you drink much tea or coffee Bill? or as Disco says, smoke tabs?

Stop the former after 2pm, that will help. Then plenty of exercise, and eating more in the mornings, less in the evenings of the right stuff.

Your system will be ****ed for a month if you stop boozing though. Just gotta ride it out.

You need to give your body time to adjust, Billy. Your body will have become reliant on needing the alcohol to get to sleep, without it your mind will be alert and probably racing. It's not easy, but you need to ride it out. It's exactly the same for me with the cannabis.

Have half an hour quiet and relax time, before you go to bed. Switch off the computer and don't get your head stuck into anything. Maybe have a cuppa and flick through a book or paper before heading off to bed.

The next two weeks will probably be more of the same for you, but after that it will start to get easier as your body gets used to it's new schedule and lifestyle. Good luck mate, and well done for cutting back on the ale <ok>

I have no sleep pattern. Usually one day a week i have a snorefest.

Have a big meal before you want to kip. That should help.

Good advice, also. Probably doesn't have to be a big meal, just make sure you don't go to bed on an empty stomach.

Yes, I worked shifts for many years. That's when the problems started.
Cheers bud. Guess I just have to tolerate it for a while.
I'm so lethargic during the day I drink caffeine pop to keep me alert.

That usually makes things worse for me Comm.

I it's not that I can't sleep at the moment. It's that I need so little. Just three hours again last night. Feel fresh as a daisy though.

    Because of the alcohol, mate.

Go out for an hours walk every day, just to break up the day and get you active. You live in a perfect place to go out walking, some great scenery where you are. Go and find some wood and knock a seat up for your garden or something, I'm just talking ****e now, but do something to keep busy, mate.
