It's going to be a balmy 43 Celsius in Vegas next weekend. HIAG probably treats his family to January in Montreal.

The earliest flight to Vegas from Gatwick today doesn't depart until 10.30, so you're a bit previous getting out your pit near Gatwick at 5.30 You should have rocked up at the terminal at 8.30
Ahh clearly this is a very big deal for you to actually jet off to the states. I'm going to refrain from taking the piss out of you on this thread, as you could do with a break (besides I can see that the lads already have been). Personally I think Vegas is a tacky ****hole, but I genuinely hope you enjoy yourself out there. One thing I would advise, is try and get out of the city and see the natural landscape, it is stunning. There are several national parks, the Grand Canyon, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Mojave desert. Just remember to take plenty of water and a cell phone if you go hiking and don't go sticking your hands in any holes (no I'm not talking about trying to finger a dildo). There are rattlesnakes in them crevices !
Vegas is a 2 or 3 nights max destination imo. As part of a trip to the States then fine, go and see it and take it for what it is, but to go all that way and only see Vegas for an entire week - with family in tow - wouldn't be for me.
Likewise. Worth a look to see the strip, but a week there would drive me nuts. I go to California every few years, so I've flown into Las Vegas a couple of times. I usually can't wait to get out of the place as it's full of Taco Bell, Wendy's, In and Out burger etc lining every block. The drive from Vegas through Death Valley and up into the Sierra Nevada is incredible, but not a place you want to break down !
I drove through the Tioga pass in Yosemite in a 6 litre v8 petrol Ford truck in October. It only did 11 miles to the gallon and there are no gas stations until you get to mono lake. At least there's some water up there to cool off. You do not want to break down in the desert !
I haven't been to Vegas in many years, so I've no doubt it's changed in some ways. However, I viewed it as Disneyland for those who are marginally more grown up. I doubt that's changed much.
Never been nor had any interest in going ... and definitely wouldn't consider for a 'family holiday' destination ... each to their own ... don't get the excitement of Formula 1 either tbf ... synchronized moto procession for the most part ... remember my then father-in-law trying to get me interested but the only changes in car positions during the race we were watching came from pit-stops (didn't stop Murray Walker getting very excited about those mind) Vegas seems to be Blackpool in the desert but with better lighting ... Been to the States and can think of many many places I'd rather see still than Vegas .. ...
Rumours hiag got stopped by officials at the airport. Suspect device in his hand luggage with a vibrating sound. Bet that was embarassing.
"That's my wife's officer" "No it's not!" "Calm down both ... we'll just check it for fingerprints" "Bugger"
It'd be a real shame if someone called American customs and told them there was a drugs mule on the Virgin Atlantic 10.30 am flight from Gatwick A bloke travelling with a fat Mrs and a couple of kids...... please log in to view this image
Have a good trip. Ask reception for the password for the wi-fi so you can then upload the proof you are in Vegas and not ducking out on a bet #avatarbottlejob
Just figured out why HIAG is in Vegas. There's an Elvis impersonator convention and the "rock god" has just arrived.... please log in to view this image
