Me saying we are looking at a am/w or two then maybe a cb isn't exactly hedging my bets and saying every position is it? Plus it isn't 3 other positions either is it.

Gallagher deal is on loan - was first mentioned on here Sunday. Don't think he was part of u23 match yesterday.
    Big opportunity for him.

Who here thinks that Real Madrid (the world's most supported club/bigger than United) were smart in expressing an interest in Pogba thus forcing United to pay a world record fee for his services?

I was saying this to a colleague of mine. It was telling the way Real Madrid dropped away tamely once the price had been upped considerably. If they were hell-bent on signing him they wouldn't have backed down as they did, in my opinion.

I think many buyers are playing a waiting game to see how much the sellers are willing to drop on players who seems surplus to requirements at the moment such as Bony, Nasri, Schweinsteiger and maybe Benteke.

In all seriousness I think Man Utd have taken a massive gamble putting all their resources into two marquee signings and a high profile manager. It could work, but there are no guarantees it will. They are not building for the future they are counting on instant success, and if they don't get it they are going to need a big abacus to count the cost of failure.

Everton and West Ham looking at Ghezzal from Lyon apparently. Good player.

Which would be finishing outside the top 4, and or failing to win the Europa League. For Saints, 5th would be brilliant.

Exactly. Man Utd simply have to qualify for the CL, failure to do so again would be a disaster. This season they will be competing not only with City, Arsenal and a rejuvenated Chelsea, but also Liverpool and Spurs. That's without anyone else gatecrashing the party, Leicester style.

For us, a third successive Europa League qualification would be a fantastic season. But Leicester have given us the right to dream. On the other hand, a good run in the Europa and a mid table PL finish wouldn't be bad either.

That's very much Mourinho's style. He is seen to best effect when he has an unlimited transfer kitty and a squad littered with star players. I read an interview recently which said that Mourinho was building a "dynasty" which I just found baffling. He's terrible for the long-term future of any club but can normally guarantee instant success with enough money to spend. I hate Man United and Mourinho, I also think they are perfect for one another.

I think you're being a bit hard on Man Utd. Not sure what Bobby Charlton and Alex Ferguson have done to deserve the former King of the Chavs moving in at the end of the street.

I do agree that it could well have been a thought out play, but another very possible explanation is that they just didn't value him as a world record transfer. They would be in very good company in think that £90m+ is overpaying for him.
