That didn't help, but they've signed some players with good league experience and they're looking at a couple more. Their season won't be defined against the likes of Lincoln and York, that's like us going against Man U and Chelsea. It's against the likes of Maidstone, Bromley and Southport that they'll look to get points.
Confused......can't find any detail on this but sounds like it was a red card/penalty....I thought that rule hadchanged with no more double punishment????
Fair play to those that went to Lincoln. Spent many an afternoon there over the years watching us, and my memories are almost certainly wrong, but I seem to recall rarely seeing us get owt from the ****ing place. I do fondly remember going with a mate who was an Imps fan, and us sitting on one of the long edge stands, away end was chocka. We saw some gobshite on the far side giving it the big one at the City fans, stumbled, someone grabbed him and he disappeared. There was then a few mins of comedy raising up of people like a little mexican wave, from left to right, all way to the other end of the stand, when this slightly battered and worse for wear looking lad popped out, over the fence, and in front of copper who removed him from the ground. Happy days really.
Rick did live updates from the game last night, this one made me smile... Rick @HullCityLive ****ing hell, they've still got the drum!
This one amused me also. Rick @HullCityLive 12h12 hours ago Lincoln singing "Don't take me home" at home. ****wits.
I think they'll need plenty of coverage, specially at the back.. shedding 6 to the Imps don't look good. That said Lincoln could be there or thereabouts.
Radio Humberside should really improve its coverage of NFU, people complain about the RL bias but the amount of time dedicated to Scunthorpe and Grimsby really takes the piss. They covered Grimsby in the National League for years, their excuse for never covering NFU was the lack of facilities for broadcasting at most grounds below the National League, well they don't have that excuse anymore.
That didn't stop them covering Hull City, Hull FC and Hull KR when KCFM was doing the same. I agree there doesn't need to be two commentaries but had HKR not stepped in they would have had no intention of starting coverage. Just listen to Sportstalk, they barely get a mention.
To be fair, it's a village team, how many people would actually listen? At least there's about 100,000 people in Grimsby, there aren't even 4,000 Ferribyonians.
To be fair, the bloke that does the Saturday show literally sounds like Alan Partridge, in every sense of the word. When I turned it on, he said something about Braintree Town, followed by an anecdote about knowledge growing on trees and Braintree being the home of tempered steel (which I'm not even sure is true).
