the latest money involved in the utd purchase is Imo horrific another nail in the lid.,its time a cap is introduced to save the game ,no wonder the present champions are so embraced
You can't tell a profitable commercial business what they can and can't do. If they try to, the big clubs will break away and clubs like us will be rendered pointless by a euro super league. Pogba pays for himself in shorts in probably a week or 2, nobody can tell United that can't do that.
There will be Pogba and Ibra shirts sold worldwide. In their millions. That club is mental. Its just a machine.
Players and not the clubs paying the agents fees, is an anomaly imo. and would be a start in the right direction.
Caps never work. It just encourages corruptive behaviour and the game is rife with enough corruption to be going on with for now. Its just a phase the game's going through at the minute. Thing's will ease off when the big media companies put a stop to their race to be the biggest. Throwing cash around like they're doing has to end sooner or later.
Players should be worth what they bring to the club. As such Pogba, Ronaldo and Bale all justify their fees. Shirts sales, sponsorships, bums on seats bla bla bla. We live in a capitalist world. Get over it. Why should they pay less than what they're worth? Because Stu says so... Probably not realistic.
Should be, but its a hell of a risk and supporters only worry that mistakes can have dire consequences for the club. Its a natural reaction to perceived madness.
I saw a guitar in a shop which was priced at £26000. PLayed and signed and certified by Joe Walsh of the eagles and also signed by Jimmy Page. The guitar, when it was manufactured, was a Gibson Les Paul Custom shop - retail around £2500. An item is worth what someone will pay for it (it sold in 3 days!) Therefore - Pogba is worth what United are willing to pay for him. My Dad says "No-one is worth that much" but they said that about Trevor Francis back in the 80's. Sky put the money up and clubs increase the selling price. The only way this will be a "nail in the coffin" is if Sky/BT take their money away from their biggest earning things - wouldn't exactly make good business sense
If we cap their wages, then surely we have to cap everything else like TV deals, sponsorships, season ticket prices etc etc Never gunna happen.
As touched on, transfer fee's, wages and agent fee's are obscene but it's all about supply and demand. If people pay to watch football on TV then costs will keep rising in football.
Pogba's shirt sales will pay the fee no problem. No brainer transfer. These are business, Nads has it spot on.
