Yeah, he played quite a bit last season when Baines was injured for quite a while. Looked a solid player in the making. I'd take him.

This is pretty much it for my criteria when deciding on whether I want the player: Is he better than.....?If yes, get him in, if not, do one! The only issue we have is that we have had so much crap over last few years that most players fit my criteria!
From what I saw of him last season he is a vast improvement on Dummett and even for a season loan I'd say take him.
Looked very good last year, be surprised to see him farmed out. We don't have a left back at the club so it would be a no brainer. We definitely need to sign a left back. Haidara and Dummett are poor. They might do ok at this level but they are not very good. I noted a club had bids turned down for Charlie Taylor and he is trying to force a move. Rafa supposedly had an interest but more likely its a PL team sniffing. We need someone even if it is just on loan.
Do we think Gamez will only play at right back? I thought he played LB in pre-season in some games? I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion on what standard he is at tbf. Personally, I'd like to see an attacking left back brought in with Dummett as cover. Right side we should sell Janmaat and go with Anita and Gamez for RB. That would give us an attacking option and a more defensive option on each side.
He played at LB at the start of last season, but is more likely to end up a CB. Talented lad, but got frozen out when Baines came back. Not the best going forwards but a good solid defender, he needs game time and he'd be quality at Championship level imo.
Loan with a purchase option pretty much agreed according to the Chronicle. They think contract agreement with player and medical are imminent.

He's having a medical as we speak......conflicting reports of loan deal with permanent option or just a loan. Cracking player. A massive step up from Dummett and Haidara, both of whom are not even Championship standard. In terms of strikers - We are after Danny Ings apparently and the lad from Brighton is the winger we are after.
Ings would probably be a good signing for us. Should score plenty of goals in the Championship, but would he drop a division? I have no idea about the lad from Everton but after Dummett's performance on Saturday I'd take just about anyone tbh.
