Williams had a wish list .... We fulfilled it IMO .I know it isn't the norm but Swansea respect their long term players and squabbling might have scrapped his wish .
The speculation continues at the post, let's see http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...borja-baston/story-29600701-detail/story.html
Well if he is out for 2 games we had better hope we really don't get any further injuries. because I tend to agree with you as I don't think the club will have identified anyone, we have seen how long it has taken us to get a striker in.
And you've seen the explanation for it, and it's not just the Swans struggling to bring players in the wake of Euro 2016, and as the olympics are on as well, I suspect it's that little bit harder to bring players in.
Rebuild really taking place now. Goalkeepers ok, Forwards ok with Baston signing, Midfield ok, Defence although van de Hoorn looked better than I've been led to believe he still looks a bit raw so we need some one with more experience to replace Ash. Full backs we,re ok . I am now looking forward to the start of the season with some optimism
Clearly we have taken Williams ambitions into acount, he has been such a huge player for us, and coming to the twighlight of his career, we are reluctantly stepping aside in respect of his wishes, having said that, I still think we should have held out for £15 Million..........
Regardless of why he wants to leave ( even for money ) , it's his wish . We would not be selling Ashley Williams if he wanted to stay ....
Fixed. He's not going to achieve anything different at Everton to what he'd achieve if he stayed here. Not going to win the league, cups, or get into Europe at Everton.
I see it as a sideways move, and although the fee is reported to be £12Million, I am sure Huw has sneaked in some cash bonuses to the contract........
So are you saying then that you would stay loyal to whoever you work for if another company was willing to pay you 50% extra? And guarantee that wage for 4 years from your current 2 years?
I've already said previously that if the doubling of wages are correct he'd be a fool not to go as he needs to think of his family etc. I was correcting Phil on the word 'ambition'. Everton are at our level on the pitch, so he's not moving to win trophies etc,
http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...league-squad/story-29600471-detail/story.html Bony links still around. I see us nabbing him on loan here.
But you are speculating on that, they have as much chance as us at winning cups, and they got to the semis of both last season. So the move is his last chance to play for a bigger team, and Everton are bigger than us. So he's securing as much money he can possibly get, and who can blame him? He's doing exactly what anyone else would do in his position.
